Default Will he get bigger?
Tigger is 17 months now and weighs 58lbs. He stayed at 21" tall for the last three months so I'm guessing he won't grow any taller. By the looks of him in the picture do you think he will fill out more? Some people say he is under weight but I compare him to photos on pbc, the net and to me he looks better than most dogs that are labeled "conditioned". What do you guys/ladies think? I want to start doing some weight training before the summer ends.

Nice looking dog you have. I don't see him being underweight at all.

I am different than some folks on dogs weight, but if anything IMO your dog is carrying 2 or 3 pounds more than he needs, definitely not under weight.

I agree with Obed. Your guy looks like he could use more of a tuck at the waist and in the pic he looks like he could use some more muscle tone, too, so he is definately not underweight!

At 17 months old he isn't going to get any bigger. Dogs usually reach their adult height by a year old and their adult width between 1 and 2 years old, depending on breed.

I like his size now but how do I improve his tuck? He is a runner and that all he does. I have a steep hill in my backyard so I usuallly do 20 up downs with a tenis ball. Was thinking of adding 5-10 lb iron plates in his vest and reducing his reps to 10

How much are you feeding? He's at a good age to START with pulling weights, remember to use a harness (best practice is a weight pull one) and start light and go heavier as he starts to get the idea and his muscles becomes accustomed to the work.

I feed him 3 cups of Wellness Core once a day. I'll throw in a raw egg twice a week. I was thinking about going raw completely but I would need to really know what I'm doing first. I get mixed reviews on raw diets

Try taking it down to two cups and see how he does... if he loses too much weight then two and a half cups nice touch with the raw egg though.

he is by far not underweight, but theres no way in hell id consider that dog conditioned by any means. you need to drop weight in order to get that tuck along with wp, sp, flirt, swimming, running, etc.

I would say go down to 2 cups a day, I was feeding 3 and went down to 2 and my dog lost a little weight and is now looking great and maintaining. Your dog looks good... he could lose maybe 2-4lbs... and yes I do believe he is full grow as well.

He looks fine to me

If you ever try and condition him he looks like he could drop 5-8 pounds and look good

Underweight? That dog could stand to lose a few pounds IMO.

I agree and wellness is a very high quality food. 3 cups of that sounds like a lot to me so try 2.5-2 cups instead depending on how much raw and treats you feed.

Hes a nice looking dog he will probably fill out a tiny bit more, but not much. Try a flirt pole for exercise and getting his tummy better tucked. Good luck!

ADD: I thought you said you were already feeding part raw. If you do raw the right way it can be very healthy and cheap. Its a very good diet because you are feeding the dog fresh food instead of persevered. There are a lot of myths on raw feeding, but it is really a good diet. Try doing some research on it I know a few people on here feed it. Good luck!

No, I feed raw egg twice a week. I will do more research on the raw diet. Espicailly if its cheaper because the Wellness is pretty steep

He's a good looking boy, not OVERWEIGHT, but could lose a few. Seeing some rib is not a bad thing at all.

I agree with cutting his food intake a little...

I feed raw, and it depends on where you get it... Buying in bulk is the cheapest way to get it, pound for pound...

Definitely not underweight!
Could lose some, like already mentioned.
He could be a nicely conditioned dog one day if you put in the work and effort...
Sure is a cutie
