Hello everyone,

This will be the first time I've bought a pup home this young (7 weeks)?? I plan on feeding him Wellness pup large breed, and just giving him and all the love and affection he needs.. along with plenty of playing and exercising.. But is there anything that I should be aware of for bring a pup home this early?

You're on the right track. Is this your first bully breed?

You should schedule a vet appt. for him as soon as possible and keep him away from your other dogs if you have any until you know he has a clean bill of health. Also don't take him to any public places until he has had 3 DHLLP (parvo/distemper) shots.

hey Krista, thanks for your reply.. This is my personal 1st. but my ex girlfriend has one (that i help practically raise) and my brother and sister...

and ok, so soon as I get him I should send him straight to the vet to get checked out? I know he's coming with his first shot already given.

No problem. I personally would have him checked out it doesn't hurt! I always have my new animals checked out right away and away from my own animals until they get a clean bill of health from the vets.

Are you getting him from a breeder or a shelter/rescue?

Call around to your local vets. I know the VCA near me gives a free 1st exam for puppies. PICTURES?!?!?

Why was the pup taken away from the litter/mom so young?

The age is usually 8-12 weeks for a reptuable breeder. Does the puppy have a ped?

id say they are getting it from a back yard breeder and my guess is it will either be unknown blood or razors edge from what the breeder told them

im dont sound angry or bitter,i just stated that you probably got the pup from a backyard breeder and that would be why your getting the pup at 7 weeks.
now if you want to get pissy about it then thats your problem.
of course i would be pissy to if i just bought a mutt that shouldnt have been taken from the bitch so young

Roddy please don't take what people say personally. It is not anyone's intention to offend. Everyone here is very dedicated to the breed and only want what's best for your new found friend. Sometimes our words may sound harsh but that is not our intention to offend. We want the best for the breed and look forward to answering questions and helping everyone out as well as support....I am new here to this site and I found what other's told me educational and sometimes hard to hear but it is the best for my dog because they are more knowledgeable of the breed then myself.

that maybe true in your case.. But I have a problem with people who assume and critize and don't know what you are talking about. IF YOU DON'T KNOW DON'T ASSUME.. and critize.. he called my pup a "MUTT" he had no idea.. so he should have just kept his comments to himself.
