Don't miss me.
Don't laugh at my attempt at poetry http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/lol.gif I used to write all the time but its been a really really really really really long time. I'm actually kind of embarrassed to share this, lmao! Its dumb.
Don't miss me. (Formerly titled "Don't Grieve".) I watch you put the phone down I watch you take a shaky breath You look at me with tears in your eyes I know you think your planning my death. Although it hurts to do so I push unsteadily to my feet I slowly make my way to you And rest my head upon your knee. I look into your loving face And hope that you can see My body is old and weak And I'm ready to be set free. I will you to remember The times not so long ago When we ran. And laughed. And Loved. And never thought of the end. Give me peace My dearest friend Let me lie here in your arms Hold me close as I cross the bend And join those so bright stars. I will wait for you there On the other side Where you may always find me Only so far as your heart. Just remember my dearest love We are never far apart So when I'm gone don't miss me I'm only so far as your heart. |
Libby that is absolutely beautiful!

I gotta agree. Made me go hug my dog
|
Thank you for sharing that
It's really good; and I needed to read something like that, right now. A week ago today, my 13 year old "nephew dog" was PTS. |

That is so sad, Libby. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/frown.png
Very well written though. |
It's lovely, Libby.
Made me think of that dreadful Saturday almost three weeks ago at the vet with Madeleine ... especially the stanza (I think that the phrase) that starts with "Give Me Peace" .... how very true. |
Libby that was beautifully written.
This part is so true and was actually what my dog did as she looked into my eyes I knew it was the day she was going to die. "I look into your loving face And hope that you can see My body is old and weak And I'm ready to be set free." |
How are you Libby?
If you need to talk, y'know... I've got time. |
