Default How fast are these guys?
I was at dog training tonight where I am in the arena solo with dog and all others are outside along the fences with their dogs. I am to take the leash off doing a sit stay and walk in front of him w/o leash and then call him to me. Well he came at me, but right past and proceeded to check every dog through the fence. Then finally came bolting to me at warp speed. Everyone had fun watching mine do the worst, but were amazed at his speed. I am taking him now for bike and leash trips where he can really build some stamina. Wish I had tonight on film. He is almost 1 year old and still 55 lbs...been that since 8 months. He is technically a bully mixed with APBT, but is spectacular looking.

Not sure if they've been clocked, but I do know they are much faster than humans are, lol!

I'm not exactly sure. Bransen has not yet met a dog he can't outrun.

I know APBTs take awhile to mature. At least until they are two. Jezebel is about 1.5 years and she is finally finally finally settling down and is not a hyperactive puppy anymore. But it depends on the dog. JT is going to be 3.5 years old still act like a puppy.

In the UK they used to have a competition event for Staffordshire bull terriers, they called it the staffylympics. They clocked them as being faster than a greyhound for the first 70 metres.

I don't know how a sporting staffy compares to a pitbull, but they are seriously QUICK!

Yeah, I have been told that.

Oh, BTW, expect something in the mail soon, Jenn.

Ripley aka Bubblebutt can keep up with Ronon my Greyhound fairly well. She has a very powerful built rearend ( a JLo booty) and can really move it when she wants too. I was very surprised. She can keep up with my roommate's long legged Great Dane too.

Only difference i see is when they are running at me, I don't wanna be hit by Ripley. She would take me out at the knee and she hits like a freight train!
