Someone couldn't handle a 5 week old puppy?! And why was it taken away from its mother at such a young age?

What questions do you have specifically?

There is quite a bit of BSL in Canada. Where in Canada are you?

Do you crate her at night? If so you can try putting a blanket over the crate to make it more den like or even put the crate in your room.

Please, find someone right now that knows what they are doing -- puppy, breed and BSL-wise. You are overwhelmed having 5 kids and 3 dogs...this is not going to end well for the puppy....

Anyone up there that can help out?

I do know what I am doing with the puppy we are suplementing her right now with formula and we have had her into the vets. my dogs are well behaved and so are our children I raise boxers and take in dogs all the time but never a pit...our boxer has taken her under her wing raising her as her own letting her nurse and making sure she stays safe we do not crate our animals at night only when we leave the house sadie the pit sleeps with the other dogs in our living room baby cleans up any messes she makes right now and we are puppy pad training her and slowly moving her out side she now goes out with our boxer who keeps her close by and yes I go out with the dogs when they go out to potty. my needs are licenceing in canada? can't find info on that and what i do find is so garbled it's not funny!! I live in ontario canada I don't know if she is pure pit or mix and I am wondering is there such thing as pittty or is it staff terrior? when old enough getting her fixed my vet is ok with her breed but they are also unsure of the legal crap in ontario. if anyone knows please send link so I can do what is right for her.

no she has not had a litter in over a year but she is a lovable girl.

I was told that was not to sure if things had changed I have heard that they sent a bill through to remove that band? I hope so if not what roads would we go through to keep her and not have her put to sleep?

I do know dogs can start to lactate if there is a puppy around or they go through a false pregnancy. I would advise calling your local animal shelter and asking them. Do you have animal control there? I would ask them if you do.

If there is a ban, the best way to let her live a happy life would probably be to do your best and get in contact with someone on here who could take her.
If not try and register her as a shar-pei mix.

I live in Prince George BC, we do have BSL laws but there's so far been no talk of a ban. Just strict muzzle/leash laws, BOD signs, etc.

I would take her if there was a way, sadly I don't think that there is.

But you should try to get the word around on this forum and maybe even on pitbullforum.com.

I wish the best of luck for your pup, I hate BSL! And BYBS!!!!!
(Back Yard Breeders, which is probably where the pup came from)

Pup that age does not need formula. If you "raise" Boxers, you know that.

PLEASE, she is not legal in Ontario. Get her out while you can do it more easily.

You raise Boxers? I think the pup deserves more than someone raising Boxers and 5 kids and being illegal on top of that.

I say rehome her asap. Keeping a Pit Bull in an area where they are banned is a bad idea. No good will come from it. Give her a chance at a great life by finding her a good home.

I agree... I can't stand BSL... I think it is BS... however I do follow the law. When I was buying my house I only looked in areas that had no additional BSL... the state of Ohio that I live in has state wide rules that I am in compliance with... but I didn't want to deal with any more. I hope you find that little girl an awesome home.

Most APBT look like shar peis when they are fugly and little and wrinkly because they are going to grow into their heads. I'd try to find out more from the people who bought her (that young!) about her past. If she is banned please try to find her a no BSL area home, no one here is trying to scare you off, everyone simply ALWAYS wants the best for the dogs (no matter how much your family loves them).
