Default I met a Cane Corso pup today
at Petsmart. I have to say she was BEAUTIFUL and well tempered with me and with Tasha. She was a black brindle just like my girl. They were both girls and I was extremely impressed with how well they played together. No DA at all. Of course the Corso was double Tasha's size. My daughter was shocked they were the same age. LOL. He was telling me how at the dog park he gets a lot of people calling her a pitbull. I said yea opinions are like assholes and people seem to think pitbulls should be HUGE. They are a medium breed. I get people telling me how small my girl is at 35 lbs and 6months. His girl is going to be an XXL for sure.

I had a boy at Petsmart today asking me if Brutus was mixed with anything because he was "small". I told him he was a bully and he apparently was getting an American Pit Bull Terrier and it was HUGE according to him. I asked him if it was Razor's Edge by chance and he said yes, so I went ahead and told him that he wasn't getting a purebred APBT.That he was getting an Ambully like Brutus. He seemed to be a little confused after getting some education.LOL

LOL. Don't ya love that shit. APBTs aren't really supposed to weigh over 60 lbs. After owning a few Danes 60 lbs or less just doesn't add up to HUGE to me. There was also an ignorant lady at the Petsmart who met Tasha and she asked what kind of dog she was. I replied she's a pitbull terrier (without even turning around. I responded quickly as I was concentrating on which new harness I wanted to buy) and the lady proceeded to pet her and say (like she was talking to Tasha) she had a couple of pitbulls at home and made some remark about Tasha's head and nose were small and long. Ummm she's 6 months old and you can't even see her face that well with her sniffing your pants at 16" tall. She remarked like they were supposed to have short muzzles and block heads like hers. She got rather indignant when I without even turning around said her head was actually just right since pitbull terriers don't have huge blocky heads and short stubby muzzles. She walked away mumbling. LOL.

I am always going to hear how small she is tho. She was the smallest of her litter. She's perfect to us and in the range for the standard so far at 35 lbs. And today's perception of the pitbull is that of more and Ambully or something. Like they are supposed to be 100lb dogs.

Then there was the little girl who wanted to pet Tasha and I heard her mom say "No that looks like a pitbull. You don't want to pet that dog." My daughter didn't hear it but saw the girl staring. So my daughter says "You can pet her if you like" and the mom replies "Uh no she's scared". Gee I wonder why lady.

Its funny how some people know right away what she is tho and others want to tell me she's gotta be something else ... and I've heard umpteen reasons like she's too nice, too small etc....

Then there was a little yip yap dog that the owner said was dog friendly and it snapped at Tasha nose. Tasha got all sad like WTF?. Her ears were back, tail wagging then BAM. Sometimes those little dogs are the ones ya really gotta look out for.

Always an interesting day at Petsmart. The Cane Corso guy was really cool tho and his dog was beautiful and so well behaved. I really enjoyed meeting his dog. And my Tasha was very polite and well behaved to all that met her. And she ended up with $100 worth of crap. LOL

What kinda pics? I didn't get any of the Cane. I have some fuzzy pics of Tasha from my blackberry. I can't get the pics off my camera onto this camera at the moment. I need a new card reader.

I guess it didn't even occur to me because I am always in cautious mode when my dog in meeting another dog. KWIM? My girl is so trusting so far and I don't want her getting bit in the face...especially after lil yip yap dog snapped at her face. That was first. Its honestly like shopping with a 3yo trying to choose and keep them out of trouble at the same time.

Awwww too cute. I enjoyed that video. The one I met was a little bigger and a black brindle but her stripes had some grey too it unlike my girl's stripes are more brown/tan. Very sweet tho.

We just added our second Corso a few weeks ago, an all black male named Nitro. Hopefully I'll have some pics to post soon. Great dogs, and they are absolute beasts when it comes to protecting the home. We found that out last week when a realtor tried to walk in our door after confusing our address with our neighbors and nearly got chewed up by Thor, let's just say I don't think he'll make that mistake again LOL.

Wow Kris! I can't wait for pics. Did you train them in PP? Or that was just by their guardian instinct? I love the name Nitro. Very cute. Can wait to see your pups. I think I would consider one of these as a PP dog after I learn more about them. I did some reading last night. I am absolutely in love with the ones I've see so far - adult and pups. And I like that they are naturally quiet. All those neighborhood dogs barking nonstop make me want to go postal.

people can be so crazy when it comes to pitbulls. I take Alkee to Petsmart every weekend to use their scale and just let him walk around. I walk him around using a halti, there is always a parent with a young child tell there kid not to pet the dog because it has a muzzle on.

Cane Corso are some great looking dogs.
