Default Hotels that allow pets
I will be going to the AADR Nationals in Morganton, NC in October. Does anyone know where I can find the info/link to "pets allowed" while traveling?

Thank you

They'll usually have a list of hotels that are close to the show or offering discounts for attendees on the AADR site when the date gets close. If it's listed on the site, it will be dog friendly.

From a business traveler, if you can find one of the "Choice Hotels" (that includes Comfort Inn, Quality Inn and several others) I have found that many (though not all) of these allow pets, 9 out of 10 are decent (cleanliness and comfort-wise), and they tend to be reasonably priced.

To add to this. The Plaza Real, & The Inn of the Anizazi in Santa Fe New Mexico allow dogs. The Inn will even let you bring your dog into the bar with you as long as its well behaved. Santa Fe is a great dog town. We even saw people with their dogs in Albertsons the last time we where there. (of course it was small and in the cart, but never the less I had never seen that before in North America. Most Hertiage Brand Hotels (Which the Plaza is) will let you bring your dogs. I think the charge was 50 bucks (one time Charge)

When on the Road Super 8s have usually been good about my dogs, however, the do very from owner to owner as does the quality of the Hotel

There are actually lots of websites ... My expereince is - always call and make sure. I have seen places that were advertised as dog firnedly, but won't take dogs.

These 2 are my favorites finding a cabin or house for rent (we always take our dog):

Wouldn't it be nice to have a sticky thread or even a new category "travel with your dog" and share places to stay? But maybe not many people here travel with their dogs?

We've used the La Quinta a few times.

BUT, as Susanne mentioned, call beforehand and ask someone to make sure. Also, understand that not all hotels that allow pets allow "pit bulls" and if they see you with the dog they will ask you to leave.

Also be prepared to pay a pet deposit we've seen them ranging from $10 to $100 (where you pay a fee, then the rest is a deposit).
