Someone was gonna get in trouble!
It's HOT, HOT, HOT today.
I left the dogs home and went to Costco. Walking out, I see a police car, and a Costco security guy there. There was a truck parked down from me, with two dogs, PitBulls, in the back. No water, no shade, no nothing. I saw the truck come in the parking lot as I was walking into the store, so it hadn't been there all that long, but still. The cop & Costco guy were waiting for the owner to come back out. To make matters worse, as I drive by, I look over and one of the dogs looks JUST like Rosie. The other one was a chocolate brindle. If I could have, I would have brought them home with me. I have my dogs with me MOST of the time, but when it's going to be in the upper 70s, unless it's a QUICK trip, they stay home. If I do need to take them with me, I make my car as cool as possible. Park in as much shade as possible, use three sun shades (windsheild, & both front windows, the others are tinted), all the windows open, moon roof open, a bowl of ice water, a bowl of regular water and a fan. But there is NO way I would have taken them with me today, when it was pushing 90. Just hanging out in the house, they are hot. |
Poor dogs! I saw this happen a few years back in Shoprite parking lot but there was a baby left in the car. Idiots.http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/eek.png

I can't believe some people. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/no2.gif We never take the dogs with us when it's way too darn hot out. Doesn't matter how cool the car is, the dog can still overheat. I hope they got in trouble. How would they like to sit in a hot car while someone goes into the store for a half hour or more?!

My dogs are in the house in front of the fan, and they are still hot. I turned the sprinkler on for them a little while ago. |

stupid idiots, I don't leave my freaken dogs in the car unless its about 65 out and if its above that the air is on and the doors are locked, gotta love 2 sets of keys. I live in a fairweather area too, under freezing in winter, around 90 in summer, so yea that is freaken hot and that person should be prosecuted.

In use to take Duke with me all the time until the day I went to give a quick estimate. Left him in the truck with the air blowing cold. I got a creepy feeling . I excused myself to go check on Duke. The damn truck had died and my boy was really getting hot. I felt worthless. Poor guy. He was ok but if I had been much longer he wouldn't have. A friend of mine who works at a kennel said they had an APBT over heat when it was only 76 degrees. Duke goes for a ride every morning before I take off for work and anytime I am going to a drive in place or can take him in with me.
