Default Opinions needed: Is this dog pit/part pit?
Good morning everyone! I am so excited...within weeks of joining this forum because I LOVE pits, I adopted 2 dogs this weekend from our local Humane Society. One I KNOW is pure pit, but the other has me wondering. I'm not as concerned with her being FULL pit, but definitely want her to have SOME fabulous pit in her (love her either way though!).

I posted all the pics I have of her at the moment, as she is pending spay & I can't pick her up until Thursday evening. If you kind folks would please look at thse pics & just give your opinion as to her breed(s), I REALLY appreciate it!

The Humane Society says she's Lab/Pit, & her original owners who left her there said she was Lab/Dalmation. She is 5 1/2 months old. She seems to have the pit ears...what do you think?

Hard to say really. Could be. But without knowing the parents you can not say 100%. She is a pretty girl. And looks very friendly. Are you considering adopting her?

I think she's a beauty too! Yes, we have already adopted her. We can't bring her home until Thursday evening, as she is awaiting her spay surgery. We can't wait!!!

In my opinion, I wouldn't say so.

But kudos on the adoption! I can't wait to see more pictures!

Here are some pics of the one we got to bring home already...

Her name is Joy. They said she is 1 1/2 years old. We wish that they had not done that chop job on her ears...but she is SO PERFECT.

They are both adorable! I'm gonna say Happy isn't pit, but Joy sure is. Kudos to you for adopting, they are so cute! And I'm sure they are super excited to have you as their new family.

The other dog looks to be more lab/dalmation or some form of hound in her with that snout. Again though its too hard to tell. beautiful girl though and congrats on your new friends!

I have to agree that I'd go with the lab/dalmatian. However, she is pretty, and congrats on the two rescues!

I don't really see it. Maybe the dalmation. How big is she? if she isn't too big she does look kind of pointerish...

I don't see any pit in that dog but hard to say. Did you make sure these two get along? Female bullys with other female dogs is usually asking for a fight down the line.

Most of the time thats true. But a friend of mine adopted a doberman pinscher and it is most definetely pure doberman pinscher. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind.

Postal: Yes, they met & spent some time together when we were going through the visit & adoption process. They get along great. Joy (the fawn blue nose) is the most mellow dog I have ever met. She passed the cat test, dog test, & kid test with flying colors. I think she will be a great "balancer" for the puppy.
