We have went through everything including training classes, spoken to a ton of people. But the Pug is just too hyper and NEVER calms down with his whining, nothing works, a shaker can, spray bottle, newspaper, nothing at all
![]() I just cannot do it anymore, and I feel bad. But the dog should go somewhere to people that can not get upset with him when he acts like that, and to people that will devote time to possibly training it out of him, and to be quite honest, I am very frustrated with him and my husband is the only one that spends time with him, Destiny even gets frustrated with him because he jumps in her face and such. Am I doing the right thing here? ![]() |

Yea I just don't want to get to the point where I get so mad at him I smack him, thats why I keep him crated, I have a short fuse, lol. But I would never hit an animal. Every time I let him out for a few hours Destiny goes in her crate and whines til I shut the crate door because she does not like to be around him anymore.

Ok I have a question you are getting rid of the pug because he whines. And it seems as though you do not have time to spend with him. However you are getting a new "pit bull" puppy. And you have the time for a new puppy. What happens if your 2 "pit bulls" end up not getting along and you have to crate and rotate.

At 16 months, your pug is still a pup and demands a lot of attention and work. You may be wearing him out physically, but are you wearing him out mentally? Try some basic commands, and work with him for about 15 minutes, several times a day, like 4-6 times a day, or 8 times a day at 10 minute sessions. He is bored, and that's more than likely contributing to his whining. Does he whine when he's with you, or just when he's in the crate? Try to spend some more quality time with him, but don't coddle his whining, just ignore it, as hard as that may be. If you coddle the whining, you just teach him to whine more to get your attention. Best of luck with your decision.
