UPDATE - Penny woke us up at 7am this mornig with her first cluster seizure. She had a total of 9 Grand Mal seizures in about an hour and 15 minutes. We rushed ehr to the E-vet and the gave her a shot of Valium, she had her last seizure as they were giving her the shot of Valium. They shaved her front leg and gave her an IV catheter and capped it off, "just in case". They got halfway into the shot and she quit seizing. Her temp was 105.9, her whole body was bright red. They put a fan on her and told us that she would have to stay there for 12 hours for observation.
I asked them if one of us could stay there to keep her calm, as she has never been left anywhere with strangers before. And the vet told me that we couldn't do that but that we could call and check on her. I told them i wasn't comfortable with that, that she was prolly gonna freak out when she came around and realized she was in a strange place with strange people. SO we left and came home. We called at noon and they said she was fine, no sign of seizures. They called 10 minutes later and said we needed to come get her because she was being aggressive. Lunging at the front of her crate when they tried to open it. Now I told them this might happen. SO I fly over there and pick her up and brought her home. Now she has finally stopped barking at nothing and is pacing around. Now if she would just lay down and go to sleep. SHe is going to be ok though, I just know it. I just hope I NEVER have to see her go through that again. Just thought I would let you all know what was going on. |
