Default Very important read!!!
today i saw a 2 year old pitbull but he was short had short legs and was very stocky and had a huge head, he looked like a giant staffordshire bull terrier, but the weird thing is my pitbull who is only 7 months and is a femail is bigger in height and has a smaller head and she has a longer snout. I HAVE SEEN THIS ALOT SOME PITS HAVE LONG SNOUTS AND SOME HAVE REALY FAT HEADS AND SHORT SNOUT, WHY IS THIS? DOES THIS MEAN 1 IS NOT A PIT? PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT MY PICTURES OF MY DOG AND LET ME KNOW SHOULD MY DOG BE MORE MUSCULAR FOR HER AGE? THANKYOU

The dog you saw that you are describing sounds like an American Bully.

There is a thread on there about the differnt types of pits or breeds that get lumped under pits. (I can't seem to find it, if someone can help me out)

You are describing and American Bully and is not a Pit bull but it's own breed. You have what seems to me in pictures, an American Pit Bull Terrier, the true pit bull. The American Staffordshie Terrier is somewhat considered to be in the Pit Bull family.. I am still learning all the history but do some research on these different types of breeds so that you can educate yourself and others. You don't want to call your dog something that he is not or to lump American Bullies in with APBT.
Good Luck

The color does not matter. Color is color and these bully breeds come in many diferent types of colors and shades.

Did it look like this or very simular?

This is considered a pocket pit.

I would love to see more pictures of your dog, closer up and a closer side profile this would help to give you a more definite answer.
The most important thing is to make sure your bully no matter what type is a good citicen and a good advocate for its breed. The general public lump all bully breeds into the Pit Bull name so we need to make sure the public sees our dogs in the best light.

Does it "really matter" what we tell you? You have posted more than a few similiar threads and still keep asking the same questions. You really need to start reading and comprehending a few informative posts and quit repeating the same questions...

Your dog is 7 months old...she's still a puppy! Let her be one.
Nose and nail color don't matter...period! What MATTERS is that she's a good dog, and you love and take care of her.
Why do I have a sneaking suspicion you're wanting to breed her and sell pups as "full blooded pits"? PLEASE, tell me I'm wrong and you're going to have her spayed.

Ok, I'm going to give you the short and sweet to the "pit bull" run down....

"pit bull" is NOT a breed. It's a group, like hound, retriever, or heeler. It's a term used to describe the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Bully, and any mix of the above that shows the characteristics of those breeds. "Pit bull" is a look, not a genetic make up. You can cross a lab with a jack russel, and if it LOOKS like a pit bull, as far as the law is concerned, it IS a pit bull.
So, yes...when the bully owner said his dog was a pit bull, he's right...it is. But it's NOT an American Pit Bull Terrier.

Does that make sense?

how are you so sure your dog is a "pit"? You were posting questions about her left and right, I, and a few others I believe, posted that she looked mixy.

Unless you have a pedigree from a legitimate, respected, and honest Breeder, you will never know.

Just love your dog as he is and raise him to be a happy, healthy, good representation of the breed.

That's not a legitimate breeder, so you will never know for sure if your dog is a purebred APBT.

And seriously, if I had a dime for every time someone had a story about how something *happened* to the papers, I'd probably have . . . well, maybe enough for two burger meals, but you get the point.

A mutt you picked up from a stranger who "lost" papers of a stolen litter and you BELIEVE you have a purebred APBT?

You're ****** than I thought. (be imaginative with those asterisks.)
