OMG I am so pissed. Right now on Judge Joe Brown there is a case of a guy's pit bull attacking an Australian Shepherd (duh right? -- dog aggressive)! So the owner needs to be a more responsible owner & properly punished ... But the Judge goes on this 5-minute rant showing dog bite statistics that go against everything I've ever seen (source: Animal People [no website provided], whoever THEY are), and how viscious, crazy, and off-their rocker pit bulls are, and wants to know why this guy would ever think of owning a pit bull. I am going to try to find a video of this online or something.

When the site was down, I was arguing with a guy on youtube about how statistics aren't a very reliable source. He kept quoting the CDC and ASPCA, and I said how most people can't truly identify the breed they were bite by. He claims that they only use expert witness? I bet. lol.

Anyway, yeah, totally insane.

I lost my baby 3 month ago. Her name was China, she was a very loving, inteligent and fun member of our family. My next door neighboor has 2 small dogs and there was a small piece of the wooden fence broken. Apparently because nobody was there to say what really happend one of her dogs got an eye dangling out and she blamed China.

This lady sued me for $800. And before the court day she came to my house to tell me to consider going to one of the TV judge-shows, in the mean time since we live in OHIO, and she went all over with her dog, they put China to sleep. I got China for my son, who turn out to be Autistic. My son is also 8 years old and he still called China everyday.

We went to this Joe Brown guy and his people told me that I had a SOLID case, that there was no actual prove that my dog was to blame. But this guy was already againts PittBulls and rant with statistics before I could even explain my self.

Is there's anything that people can do to protect their pets againts so much ignorance???

It makes me wonder why these judges have hit an all time low putting themselves on public television. I mean it makes themselves look like a circus show. A professional judicial system wouldn't put themselves look so rediculous!

This is not to sound rude in any way towards you but I wouldn't let my dog outside unattended. There are alot of creeps in this world. I wouldn't give them the chance to hurt your dog.

According to the lady next door, what happend was that my dog someway got her whole head on HER side of the fence and just manage to poke the eye on her Shi tzu. Mind you, the vet report says the eye was dangling because of a TRAUMA. It didn't mention anything else. Plus, my dog was a 57 pound, there was no way she could fit her head in there. When the City Kennel came to get her, the guy told me that he couldn't imagine why they where taking the dog from us if the dog was inside the house all the time, it never hurt anyone or anything before and the hole in the fence was as big as his fist.

No I didn't imply that you let her run rampant. I'll give you an example of why I don't leave my dog unattended in my back yard. A friend of mine left her pit in her fenced in backyard (and well maintained) and her nieghbor decided to feed her dog anti freeze. The dog died. Another nieghbor left his dog in a friends fenced in backyard unattended and I heard a dog barking like crazy it sounded urgent. The nieghbor kid went into the yard through the gate and was hitting the dog with a stick. Fortunatly I yelled at the kid and reported the incident to the child's parents. It only takes a seconds for this crap to happen.

THat never crossed my mind to be honest with you. I don't know I just couldn't think that anyone wanted to hurt or do anything to her. She was as part of my family as my kids. She never sleep in the backyard, and people around here, we all have pets, so... But hey, you learn something everyday... Thanks...

I'm very sorry for your loss. This breed has way too many enemies. I may be overcautious with my dog but I hear stories like yours way too often. Your nieghbor should be ashamed. Did she at least apologize for the mistake?

No. She got reasure by the statistic of the Judge Brown and his so called "Knowlege" on the breed. The fact that I mention that my son is autistic and China was more his partner than mine, set him off and he just projected more fear to that woman. She got her money. I told her that if in fact my dog was responsible for what happend, it wouldn't being just a dangling eye.

The worst part was, when he was saying this stuff, the audience members were in the back, nodding 'YES' in agreement. I was literally screaming at the TV.
