To the specific link. It is just a list of links to other crackpot and junk science sites.

A list of doctors (many of whom are not actually doctors) who don't like vaccines prove nothing. This is a tired old tactic and was hilariously spoofed when the creationists tried the same thing.

They try the autism vaccine link. There is none. This has been shown in literally thousands of studies, analysis and reviews.

They try the aborted fetal tissue lie. there is no aborted fetal tissue in vaccines. To say so either shows you are ignorant on the subject or deliberately lying to lush an agenda.

Vaccines have been proven to be safe and effective.

Finally they use the big Farmer conspiracy. How come the people that sell supplements, vitamins, water (and call it medicine) are not castigated as evil profit seekers also?

So basically is a tired list of anti vaccination myths that only the truly gullible would ever fall for.

Ulike the cherry picked data that the anti vaccination lobby likes to use, these graphs fairly clearly show the decline in incidence of disease with vaccination. Note that incidence not mortality is used. Note also that for many "cleaner living conditions" cannot have been a factor.

My comment is be careful who you listen to and what you read. From your link

Vaccine Expert Interviews

Interview with Dr Andrew Wakefield about the British Medical Journal, science and vaccines From the link provided by furious

'Evidence of falsification'

Mr Wakefield was barred from medical practice last year on grounds of conflict of financial interest and unethical treatment of some children involved in the research.

The BMJ says Sunday Times investigative journalist Brian Deer has "unearthed clear evidence of falsification".
It says not one of the 12 cases as reported in the study tallied fully with the children's official medical records and diagnoses had been misrepresented and dates faked in order to draw a convenient link with the MMR jab.

It says only one of the nine children described by Mr Wakefield as having "regressive autism" clearly had this condition and three were not even diagnosed with autism at all.

The journal adds the findings had been skewed in advance, as the patients had been recruited via campaigners opposed to the MMR vaccine.

It says Wakefield had been confidentially paid hundreds of thousands of pounds through a law firm under plans to launch "class action" litigation against the vaccine.

Wakefield falsified the medical data and had a direct and personal financial interest in the result.

mercolla and Tenpenny both sell over priced under regulated and largely ineffective products through their websites.

But that is OK, the evil big Farmer are the ones who are only doing it for the money.

For as long as their are at least 2 people, there will be at least 2 opinions on everything. Some opinions are more justified than others, but I wouldn't like to be the judge, or compel any against a belief they might honestly hold. Some beliefs are more dangerous that others, but you defeat bad ideas with better ideas and matching behaviours.

You along with the flaming nongs denying AGW impress me with your total inability to learn that posting crap to a science forum may not end well.

Wonder if this inability to learn from repeated pain explains the clinging to dated beliefs in shite as a way of interacting with the world.

From the article linked in the OP: "The safe choice is to say no to vaccines."

Let's look at the data.

Worldwide, the fatality rate has been significantly reduced by a vaccination campaign led by partners in the Measles Initiative: the American Red Cross, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the United Nations Foundation, UNICEF and the WHO. Globally, measles fell 60% from an estimated 873,000 deaths in 1999 to 345,000 in 2005. Estimates for 2008 indicate deaths fell further to 164,000 globally... From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Measles#Epidemiology (source of data: http://www.unicef.org/media/media_38076.html)

Or do the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people not count if they're Africans or Asians?

You are entitled to your own opinions, but not your own facts.

The data in the links presented in the opening post are factually incorrect. This is not about beliefs, it is about best evidence and real data as opposed to conspiracy theory, myth and ideology.

My comment is, yes, there is a small but finite risk associated with vaccination, but overall it is of immense value to the health and wellbeing of the community. This is easily proven to anybody who is not totally blinkered by prejudice.

Some people, unfortunately, are happy to accept the benefits of herd immunity without playing their part. They ride on the coat-tails of the more responsible members of the community. I call them irresponsible tossers, though it is possible that some of them are just poor misguided haflwits who have been misled by propaganda disseminated by various groups whose agenda is unclear.

(Footnote: my wife works at the Children's Hospital. She is frequently in contact with new refugee family groups - currently largely Sudanese. The mothers are hugely in favour of vacination and getting their kids sorted out is a major priority - something not avaiable in their country of origin. They have witnessed the morbidity and mortality caused by "harmless" childhood infections such as measles, polio, diphtheria, etc.)

Unfortunately all replies here seem to be in the moment, now

Have y'all heard of the process of selection

Any (conscious) intervention... whether Iraq, antibiotics, vaccines... types of food, additions to food.... etc
causes selection

and selection often has undesirable consequences... Mad Cow, MRVR Staph, multi-antibiotic resistant TB, drug resistant intestinal parasites..... or failed states....

More unfortunately, for human beings, it is suck and see

so playing with things y'all know nothing about can be fatal....

Now specifically for vaccination
It would be wise to use the tools sparingly, rather than wide scale

treat the sick and ?protect those near... and monitor

In other words, keep your powder dry

Most unfortunately is the fascist attitude evoked by fear
easily proven to anybody who is not totally blinkered by prejudice. Some people, unfortunately, are happy to accept the benefits of herd immunity without playing their part. They ride on the coat-tails of the more responsible members of the community. I call them irresponsible tossers, though it is possible that some of them are just poor misguided haflwits who have been misled by propaganda disseminated by various groups whose agenda is unclear. and extremely unfortunately, it is the ignorant that propaganda is most effective
(Footnote: my wife works at the Children's Hospital. She is frequently in contact with new refugee family groups - currently largely Sudanese. The mothers are hugely in favour of vaccination Until y'all really understand the situation that LIFE presents, discrimination, blame and violence will be the outcome of your myopic and self centred thoughts

Socrates: Beware your wishes

Audigga,
You are SO right!!! Those women, who have managed to keep their kids alive through unimaginable horrors, and have seen FIRST HAND the results of not vaccinating, are just so ignorant...
We are fortunate that you have been able to sort out the wheat from the chaff, so to speak.
Shameful.
