ah ha.... well Nature has a surprise in store; NOT !

Maybe, just maybe, you get what you deserve

Socrates: Beware your wishes.
How does this count as a meaningful response.

LOL

Trying to sidestep the natural order leads to consequences one may not like

Trying to catch up via intervention may also lead to further consequences one may not like

Nature is well founded, human knowledge is very deficient...... when mothers become self centred, the baby suffers

and the infant... and then to the adult...

Another unknown and unintended consequence

Vaginal birth triggers the expression of a protein in the brains of newborns that improves brain development and function in adulthood, according to a new study by Yale School of Medicine researchers, who also found that this protein expression is impaired in the brains of offspring delivered by caesarean section (C-sections).

The team studied the effect of natural and surgical deliveries on mitochondrial uncoupling protein 2 (UCP2) in mice. UCP2 is important for the proper development of hippocampal neurons and circuits. This area of the brain is responsible for short- and long-term memory. UCP2 is involved in cellular metabolism of fat, which is a key component of breast milk, suggesting that induction of UCP2 by natural birth may aid the transition to breast feeding.

The researchers found that natural birth triggered UCP2 expression in the neurons located in the hippocampal region of the brain. This was diminished in the brains of mice born via C-section. Knocking out the UCP2 gene or chemically inhibiting UCP2 function interfered with the differentiation of hippocampal neurons and circuits, and impaired adult behaviors related to hippocampal functions.

"These results reveal a potentially critical role of UCP2 in the proper development of brain circuits and related behaviors ," said Horvath.

"The increasing prevalence of C-sections driven by convenience rather than medical necessity may have a previously unsuspected lasting effect on brain development and function in humans as well."

Not that it's got anything to do with vaccination, of course.

You keep hinting at all these uni tended consequences, but not have actually said what they are, or provided evidence they exist.

So what has been the consequence of eradicating smallpox (from the world) and diptheria, TB, polio, cholera etc from Australia? I mean if widespread use of smallpox was going to lead to some disastrous consequence it is a bit late, we don't need that vaccine anymore. It is possible to completely eradicate polio in the same way, and even pertussis (it only exists in humans).

Martin you eradicate an organism and a new habitat is created for another one....

Faith in the future is unfounded when the past is unknown

The Western world is full of people who would not be.

In my experience the increased prevalence of C-Sections seems to have more to do with convenience around the timing of a birth rather than any 'fear of labor'.

+1

"Perhaps the biggest surprise in the QCMB study was that only half (52.4%) of all women birthing in public and private facilities reported making an informed decision to have a planned caesarean before going in to labour. Only one-fifth (19.9%) of women made an informed decision to have a caesarean section when the procedure was unplanned."

The inter-links between biochemical poisons and metabolites and integrity are relatively unknown.... we know they are unknown
so they are not unknown unknowns

Metal Poisoning and Prions seem to go hand in hand... totally expected
The electric field/charges changes caused by rouge metal ions disrupt metabolic pathways... and there are always deleterious consequences

Zombie Apocalypse

Many of us are familiar with prion disease from its most startling and unusual incarnations—the outbreaks of “mad cow” disease (bovine spongiform encephalopathy) that created a crisis in the global beef industry.

Or the strange story of Kuru, a fatal illness affecting a tribe in Papua New Guinea known for its cannibalism. Both are forms of prion disease, caused by the abnormal folding of a protein and resulting in progressive neurodegeneration and death.

While exactly how the protein malfunctions has been shrouded in mystery, scientists at The Scripps Research Institute now report in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) that reducing copper in the body delays the onset of disease.

Mice lacking a copper-transport gene lived significantly longer when infected with a prion disease than did normal mice. “This conclusively shows that copper plays a role in the misfolding of the protein, but is not essential to that misfolding,” said Scripps Research Professor Michael Oldstone, who led the new study.

“We've known for many years that prion proteins bind copper,” said Scripps Research graduate student Owen Siggs, first author of the paper with former Oldstone lab member Justin Cruite. “But what scientists couldn’t agree on was whether this was a good thing or a bad thing during prion disease. By creating a mutation in mice that lowers the amount of circulating copper by 60 percent, we've shown that reducing copper can delay the onset of prion disease.”

Zombie Proteins unlike most infections, which are caused by bacteria, viruses, or parasites, prion disease stems from the dysfunction of a naturally occurring protein. “We all contain a normal prion protein, and when that's converted to an abnormal prion protein, you get a chronic nervous system disease,” said Oldstone.

“That occurs genetically (spontaneously in some people) or is acquired by passage of infectious prions. Passage can occur by eating infected meat; in the past, by cannibalism in the Fore population in New Guinea through the ingestion or smearing of infectious brains; or by introduction of infectious prions on surgical instruments or with medical products made from infected individuals.”

When introduced into the body, the abnormal prion protein causes the misfolding of other, normal prion proteins, which then aggregate into plaques in the brain and nervous system, causing tremors, agitation, and failure of motor function, and leads invariably to death.

A Delicate Balance The role of copper in prion disease had previously been studied using chelating drugs, which strip the metals from the body—an imprecise technique. The new study, however, turned to animal models engineered in the lab of Nobel laureate Bruce Beutler while at The Scripps Research Institute. (Beutler is currently director of the Center for the Genetics of Host Defense at UT Southwestern.) The Beutler lab had found mice with mutations disrupting copper-transporting enzyme ATP7A. The most copper-deficient mice died in utero or soon after birth, but those with milder deficiency were able to live normally. “Copper is something we can't live without,” said Siggs.

“Like iron, zinc, and other metals, our bodies can't produce copper, so we absorb small amounts of it from our diet. Too little copper prevents these enzymes from working, but too much copper can also be toxic, so our body needs to maintain a fine balance.

Read more at: http://medicalxpress.com/news/2012-0...sease.html#jCp There is evidence that Parkinsons, Alzheimers etc are also prion-like diseases....

In the future it WILL BE FOUND that metal ion toxicity is at the very basis of metabolite illnesses...
even microbial diseases

The take home message is
be healthy... but healthy in ways you may have never dreamed of

Certainly healthy/clean as in our developed society is good and protective
but healthy is also metabolic health... and that is totally compromised by Western Society and its frivolous and toxic products

Eradicating smallpox was a mistake? LOL

Wonder what the future will think of that

I do not believe that smallpox (and variants) has been completely eradicated... ie extinct... even though there have been no current cases AFAIK
but lets look at the few facts that have been observed

WHO 2012: In the absence of natural disease and vaccination, the global population is significantly more susceptible.

Some experts have estimated today's rate of transmission to be more on the order of 10 new infections per infected person.

The risk of adverse (vaccination) events is sufficiently high that vaccination is not warranted if there is no or little real risk of exposure.

Vaccine administered up to 4 days after exposure to the virus, and before the rash appears, provides protective immunity and can prevent infection or ameliorate the severity of the disease.

The global eradication of smallpox was certified, based on intense verification activities in countries, by a commission of eminent scientists in December 1979 and subsequently endorsed by the World Health Assembly in 1980.
http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/smallpox/en/ Variants
Smallpox had two main forms: variola major and variola minor. The two forms showed similar lesions. The disease followed a milder course in variola minor, which had a case-fatality rate of less than 1 per cent. The fatality rate of variola major was around 30%.

There are two rare forms of smallpox: haemorrhagic and malignant. In the former, invariably fatal, the rash was accompanied by haemorrhage into the mucous membranes and the skin. Malignant smallpox was characterized by lesions that did not develop to the pustular stage but remained soft and flat. It was almost invariably fatal. So what do we know of smallpox ?

maybe nothing except it kills...... The virulence of smallpox appears to be potentiated by passage through some individuals
Persons carrying the virus during the incubation period cannot infect others.
The incubation period of smallpox is usually 12–14 days (range 7–17) during which there is no evidence of viral shedding.
The frequency of infection is highest after face-to-face contact with a patient after fever has begun and during the first week of rash, when the virus is released via the respiratory tract.

Although patients remain infectious until the last scabs fall off, the large amounts of virus shed from the skin are not highly infectious. Exposure to patients in the late stages of the disease is much less likely to produce infection in susceptible contacts. so it would appear that the health state of the exposed individual seems to be a critical factor as well, as is also population density

Smallpox, which is believed to have originated over 3,000 years ago in India or Egypt, is one of the most devastating diseases known to humanity.
For centuries, repeated epidemics swept across continents, decimating populations and changing the course of history.
In the absence of immunity induced by vaccination, human beings appear to be universally susceptible to infection with the smallpox virus. What comes and goes, can come again. Ignorance is a very effective vector.

Riiiight.

So everyone says it is eradicated, but not you, because you know better. If it comes back, which would only happen if someone did it on purpose so not actually vaccine related, we could still vaccinate people, and in fact vaccinate them post exposure.

Yep bloody disastrous that. All those millions of people not dead.

So much for Mercola!

FDA Warnings

In 2005, the FDA ordered Mercola and his Optimal Wellness Center to stop making illegal claims for products sold through his Web site [11]. The claims to which the FDA objected involved three products:

Living Fuel Rx, claimed to offer an "exceptional countermeasure" against cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, etc.
Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil, claimed to reduce the risk of heart disease and has beneficial effects against Crohn's disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and many infectious agents
Chlorella, claimed to fight cancer and normalize blood pressure.

In 2006, the FDA sent Mercola and his center a second warning that was based on product labels collected during an inspection at his facility and on claims made on the Optimum Wellness Center Web site [12]. This time the claims to which the FDA objected involve four products:

Vibrant Health Research Chlorella XP, claimed to "help to virtually eliminate your risk of developing cancer in the future."
Fresh Shores Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, claimed to reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, and degenerative diseases.
Momentum Health Products Vitamin K2, possibly useful in treating certain kinds of cancer and Alzheimer's disease.
Momentum Health Products Cardio Essentials Nattokinase NSK-SD, claimed to be "a much safer and effective option than aspirin and other pharmaceutical agents to treating heart disease."

The warning letters explained that the use of such claims in the marketing of these products violates the Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act, which bans unapproved claims for products that are intended for curing, mitigating, treating, or preventing of diseases. (Intended use can be established through product labels, catalogs, brochures, tapes, Web sites, or other circumstances surrounding the distribution of the product.)

In 2011, the FDA ordered Mercola to stop making claims for thermography that go beyond what the equipment he uses (Medtherm2000 infrared camera) was cleared for. The warning letter said that statements on Mercola's site improperly imply that the Meditherm camera can be used alone to diagnose or screen for various diseases or conditions associated with the breast, they also represent that the sensitivity of the Meditherm Med2000 Telethermographic camera is greater than that of machines used in mammography. The statements to which the FDA objected included:

"Revolutionary and Safe Diagnostic Tool Detects Hidden Inflammation: Thermography"
"The Newest Safe Cancer Screening Tool"
"[b]ecause measuring inflammation through thermal imaging is a proactive, preventative method you can use for detecting disease, which significantly improves your chances for longevity and good health."
Additionally, thermograms provide: "Reliable and accurate information for diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis…"
"Yes, it's true. Thermograms provide you with early diagnosis and treatment assistance in such problems as cancer, inflammatory processes, neurological and vascular dysfunction, and musculoskeletal injury."
Thermography can benefit patients by detecting conditions including: Arthritis: "[d]ifferentiate between osteoarthritis and more severe forms like rheumatoid." Immune Dysfunction, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue, "Digestive Disorders: Irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulitis, and Crohn's disease…" and "Other Conditions: including bursitis, herniated discs, ligament or muscle tear, lupus, nerve problems, whiplash, stroke screening, cancer and many, many others."
