Almost certainly. At least, that's what the people in the upper echelons of the Australian Olympic movement are saying. However, whatever they say needs to be viewed in the context of their constant lobbying for more funding.
The obvious solution is to employ more sports psychologists and pay them by reducing the income of the top mamagers

What factors other than chance would account for the success of some countries in turning silver into gold, and the abysmal performance of some other (apparently similar) countries.
interesting how a low gold to silver ratio can be described as abysmal?

As already pointed out, the term "abysmal" was ironic.

I saw that after I posted my comment, but still, the OP certainly doesn't read TIC.

Reverse caps lock?

Edited to add: Just ordinary caps locks + shift would do, I suppose. I didn't think that through. Because it is, yanno, important to think these things through.

Heh.

I thought maybe the forum automatically turns off an all-caps post for netiquette.

I typed this in capitals as well. I think lots of the well known internet abbreviations revert to lower case automatically.

No, if you type _everything_ in caps, then it makes it lower case, but if there is some lower case mixed with the caps, then everything turns out as intended...

I did type the line in all caps

I just disagree with the all 'well know abbreviations' bit

It also seems to keep the capital at the start of sentences. That's pretty smart.
