Scientists have remarked that the rover's surroundings resembled parts of the southwestern US. Probably faking this just round the corner from where they faked the moon landing.

If you believe the moon landing is fake I feel sorry for you and every other conspiracy theorist. Why do you think this is fake? Are you taking the meaning of red planet too literal?
