Default KC/Indy Analysis
Peyton got a gift today. Herm Edwards was completely outcoached. When you have talk all week about how the Chiefs were going to run all over Indy, you have to go against the grain to start. You have to make the safeties honor the pass. Indy gameplanned against the run, and Edwards simply got outcoached.

Between that, the missed chip-shot in the 1st half when the tide was turning, and Trent Green being completely inept, they still had a chance due to Peyton's mediocre showing. And if the Chiefs offense even gets 5 or 6 first downs in the first half, it gives the defense some rest and possibly prevents the cave-in scenario at the end.

Should get interesting in Balto next week.

Indy won't go very deep in the playoffs if Manning keeps throwing it like it he did today. He certainly didn't help his reputation of being a playoff choker today.

The only observations I had from the game today are that Chris Collinsworth never shuts his stupid fucking mouth, and why is Jim Mora Jr. employed?

He shouldn't get a job for expertise after his 'joke' about going to Washington. He has no credibility for intelligence after that.

And Collinsworth needs to wear a sock in his mouth or something, Roy. You're right about him.

I remember during the pregame, right before the game started they were talking about the friendship between Dungy and Edwards.

The last part of the clip had Edwards saying, "He (Dungy) has taught me how to be such a better person, better father, better coach, etc... I have never repaid him, but if I can ever find a way I'd do it." Something to that effect...

We heard it over here, had a good chuckle, and then said game over...

I think it was absolutely a poor gameplan. Edwards might have bought into the "we'll run all over them" hype too much. It shouldn't take a half to realize that you aren't gaining yards against their 8-in-the-box. The dropped balls didn't help, but when Manning gives you three INTs, you've gotta win.

My only other point: Dick Vermeil got a huge blessing when Trent Green busted up his knee that year Kurt Warner broke out. Green has never impressed me very much. Green's performance actually made Manning look better, and that's a tough accomplishmnet.
