Tampa seems a bit high, but whatever!

Poor Seattle.

Default TP Week 1 Rankings
1. New England Patriots: Until somebody proves otherwise, the Patriots are the best in the league.

2. Indianapolis Colts: The Colts have been so close over the past couple years. The Patriots are ranked 1st, but they should be seriously concerned about the Colts in the AFC.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers:
Still undefeated in the regular season with Big Ben at the helm. Add in their defense, a running game which will strengthen over the season, and Hines Ward, and the Steelers are still serious contenders.

4. Philadelphia Eagles:
Some of you may call this homerism, but the Eagles played the worst game of their lives (sans a Jeremiah Trotter) and still walked away with a 4-point loss. The Falcons won the game, but I find it hard to believe that they are the better team.

5. Atlanta Falcons:
They beat a flat Eagles team in Atlanta. Normally, you would see the Falcons ranked above the Eagles, but both teams played pretty poorly and both need to improve. Until then, their ranking is really irrelevant since the AFC teams remain dominant in this league.

6. Buffalo Bills:
Defensively? Total domination. With Willis McGahee and their defense, the Bills should be able to win 10 games this year.

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
Their defense is still strong. Cadillac Williams is running well. And Jon Gruden is still in control. I may dislike the Buccaneers, but they look like contenders right now.

8. Kansas City Chiefs:
Capitalized on mistakes by the Jets and blew them out. The Chiefs have all they need on offense in Priest, LJ, and Tony G. And the defense doesn't look like it's going to blow too many games.

9. Jacksonville Jaguars:
When did Jimmy Smith decide to jumpstart his career again? Their offense looks dangerous and their defense is solid. They could do some damage.

10. Minnesota Vikings:
Yeah, they lost. But they still have Daunte Culpepper so they will always have opportunities on offense. The team made a lot of mistakes (specifically Culpepper). Don't expect that to happen again for the rest of the season.

11. San Diego Chargers:
Got away from their gameplan and were hurt from the absence of Antonio Gates. LT needs to get the ball more and the redzone offense will thrive with Gates returning.

12. New York Giants:
A slimmed-down Strahan was looking pretty good this week. The offense looks strong with Tiki and Shockey being complemented well by some roleplayers. And perhaps Eli will begin to come into their own. Either way, they destroyed a team that everyone picked to win the NFC West. They look like they're headed for 2nd place in the NFC East.

13. Miami Dolphins:
They still have a strong defense. Gus Frerrote looked nasty, and they will soon have Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams in the backfield. Add in Chambers and McMichaels and this team could upset quite a few teams this year.

14. Cincinnati Bengals:
They beat the Browns, who just might be the worst team in the league right now. I'm not impressed, but they did win so I'll put them at 14.

15. Detroit Lions:
They finally beat the Packers. Not only did they beat them, but they held them to 3 points (the first time the Packers have been held to that in quite a while). I need to see some consistency from this team, though.

16. Baltimore Ravens:
They got beat by the Colts who totally outclass them. But they still have a great defense and they also have Jamal Lewis and Chester Taylor. A good running game plus a good defense equals wins. Plus they get to play the Browns twice a year.

17. Oakland Raiders:
They got beat by the reigning Superbowl champions in a game that easily could have gone either way. They need to minimize their penalties and Collins needs to hold onto the ball for them to win. They have crazy potential on offense, though.

18. New Orleans:
They came out and won a very emotional game against rival Carolina. The offense is solid but the defense is still too weak for them to do much. If they ride the wave, the might be able to sneak into the playoffs, though.

19. Dallas Cowboys:
They won a game that they never should have. The Chargers are a much better team than the Cowboys. But the 'Boys walk away with one in the win column. Don't expect to see that happen to often. Bledsoe is not the answer to Dallas' problems. Julius Jones will improve from week 1, though.

20. Washington Redskins:
Like the Bengals, they beat a weak team in the Bears -- starting a rookie QB and they only won by 2. Again, they pick up a win, but they're going to have to play better. Again, I don't think Brunell is the answer here.

21. St. Louis Rams:
Regardless of what happened Sunday, they are the best team in the NFC West. They should feed off this loss and come out swinging in Week 2.

22. New York Jets:
They made way too many mistakes to win a game. They still have a lot of work to do but I expect some improvement. They're in a tough division, though.

23. San Francisco 49ers:
Good win for them. They're still pretty bad, though. Beating a bad team doesn't change that.

24. Green Bay Packers:
Got totally dominated and looked horrible. With the loss of Javon Walker, you've got to wonder whether their playoff streak is over. Favre might be out of magic. But if he's not, expect the Packers to compete until the end of the season.

25. Seattle Seahawks:
I don't even know what to say here. I expect more from them. That division is horrible so any of them could make it to the playoffs.

26. Houston Texans:
The Texans took serious strides last year, and coming into this year looked improved on defense and offense. I'm not sure what to make of their loss. Maybe Buffalo is just that good. They're my sleeper pick for making the playoffs this year, but they're off to a bad start. We'll see how Carr and the rest of the offense adjust for next week.

27. Carolina Panthers:
With Kris Jenkin's injury and the loss of Muhsin Muhammad, I don't see the Panthers doing much this year. It's popular to say they're going to make the playoffs, but I don't think they have the personnel to do it.

28. Chicago Bears:
Just barely lost to the Redskins. With a rookie QB, it's hard to gauge where the Bears are at. They have a pretty good defense, though, so they should be able to win some tough games. The NFC North is wide open to me.

29. Arizona Cardinals:
I expect more from them. But until they start winning, they don't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as "NFC West Champs."

30. Denver Broncos:
The division looks pretty good this year and Denver looks like the worst team there. Jake Plummer continues to make mistakes and the defense looked pretty bad. Plus, Bailey and Anderson are both fighting injuries. I don't see them doing much this year.

31. Tennessee Titans:
They would be ranked last if not for Steve McNair. I think he could single-handedly will this team to an 8-8 season. But who knows how many games he'll even play. Their season will rest on his shoulders.

32.
Cleveland Browns: They are horrible.

-- Everything was based solely on opinion.
-- I had a lot of time to do this since I don't have class tomorrow.
-- I hope some of my rankings piss people off.
