Alright boys and girls. Here is a good replay over and over for you. Bronco cpt and AJmyboy should go read there posts again and give your heads a shake.
Ok after seeing the replay, now, a couple of days removed, the ball was not going to be caught, but I still say that it was not an illegal hit. Just someone going fullspeed. He put his head on the correct side and did not lead with it. Trust me I would still be saying this if the shoe was on the other foot. Thanks for the video clip.

I just think that running full speed. Its hard to tell that he didnt catch the ball, and its not like he hit him after the ball hit the ground or something.
I didn't see the play when it happened, but looking at that replay, the ball was damn close to being on the ground already when Lynch hit him.

That and the fact that Lynch lowered his head and hit Dante with his helmet lead me to believe that a flag was warranted. Just because he throws his shoulder in at the same time doesn't mean that he didn't hit him with his helmet.

Actually, the fact that he was still making a play on the ball is EXACTLY what makes him defenseless. I don't think the hit was on purpose, but I do think that he clocked a defenseless Dante slightly under the chin. I don't think a flag was warranted, but come on, Lynch is lucky he didn't hurt Dante worse than he didn.
What I mean by defenseless is, If your are making a play on the ball then you are making ana offensive move and game to be hit.

That little replay looks like the ball hit Lynch in the leg. Would he have had an interception if he wasnt headhunting?

Default Opinions on the John Lynch hit...
Curious to hear what you all have to think about the Hit John Lynch put on KC's receiver last night?

Personally I do not think in any way shape or form was it illegal. It did not deserve to be flagged. JL hit him in the numbers, not in the head. The Wr was still makinga play on the ball which does not make him defenseless like the idiot refs said. On top of all that, it is impossible to just stop yourself when you are going full bore like he was. I f he gets fined it will be a bogus fine, not deserved.

1st Of all, i dont know what game you were watching, because he didnt hit hall in the numbers. He hit him just under his chin, and Hall probably got some helmet to chin action.

That being said, it was a bullshit penalty. I love a Saftey than will hit a WR and let them know whats gonna happen if you go over the middle. It changes the hole game.

I doesn't look deliberate but he did lead with his head. Definitely a penalty, I'm not sure about a fine.

Pagal - Actually you should re-read my post. I didnt say anything about Lynch breaking the play up. Nothing.

I was fine with the hit, didn't hit him square in the numbers tho(only unless you beleive the ESPN commentators) but he hit him above the numbers. Probably did hit the chinstrap with the VERY top of the helmet. But not helmet to helmet hit. The flag was fine by me as well because the ball was baisically falling to the ground when lynch went for the hit. I get that he was going full speed and what not but at the point where the receivers eyes are facing down and is not aware of anyone around him, he is defenseless.

Didn't see the hit.

Can't get any of the replays to work on my PC so I can't judge it.

If anyone has a site that may work, let me know. NFL.Com and Foxsports won't work.

If lynch does not hit him, he could havea had a chance to come up with the ball.

Basically all I am saying is that it was not dirty hit at all. And the nfl better not fine him.
That is quite false to tell you the truth. He had failed to catch the ball before lynch even came into the picture of the replay. The ball was thrown behind Hall(if i'm not mistaken) and he wasn't able to drop it. If Lynch didn't hit him he still would not have come up with the ball.
