System Tool Virus
Anyone ever had this? It's what my dad has right now and it renders Windows inoperable

wqindows wont boot a vd i dont think it'll execute a program from a thumb drive.... i think he'll need to buy a new one.

no they dont..do you have your windows disk?..if you have a disk insert it into the cd drive and boot from it to get it up and running..there are other fixes also,..there is no need to buy a new drive,..unless they like to spend unnecessarily

Here's an idea. If you know how to change the BIOS boot settings, then get hold of a 1GB memory stick, download Ubuntu onto it and set the BIOS to boot the memory stick first. That should get past the virus, then go from there to get rid of the virus. It worked for me when I had a pesky virus back in June/July.
