You need the drivers for the router installed wich should add the network connection, if not you can manually do it.

That's about the limit of my networking knowledge though lol xD

Yes. Next to other devices. An then the drop down has a bunch too. One of the options being Ethernet Controller and then a bunch of other controllers

Okay, that means you are missing the drivers for the laptop's wireless connection and thats why it wont recognize the router. you need to find the disc with the drivers and install them

Yep that's the major problem...

Toivaluadiora 03-06-2010 01:57 AM

Yeah once that's done the tcp/ip can be set up unless the default settings can recognize the connection.

bunkalapa 03-06-2010 01:59 AM

After doing that you should be good, and I gotta go good luck!

Teprophopay 03-06-2010 02:49 AM

I tried, but it says I have to be connected to the internet. I give up. Thanks so much for trying y'all!

neictscek 03-06-2010 02:57 AM

Six is right. Your drivers need to be installed if you have bangs in your device manager. Once they are installed if it still doesn't work then it's an IP problem. You can call Comcast and ask them if they can Ping it for you but my experience is that they will charge you a service call and want to come down to fix it.

Did you try to install them from disc or try to update from the device manager, because if the drivers aren't installed the device manager wont find anything. You may have to search for the drivers online somewhere then download them on your desktop. Since you or your husband don't know much about computers your best bet may be to find a computer repair shop somewhere and have them do it, if I were physically there I could fix it but it's a bit hard to do through text on a screen xD sorry I couldn't help more.

All of this could easily be avoided if Matt would simply stop surfing porn.
