Ask.com Search
I downloaded a free photo editing program and it came with the ask toolbar. I really needed the program so I said "Oh well I can uninstall ask later"
WRONG How do I get this shit off my computer? If I type something in my address bar in Firefox, ask.com comes up. |
It changed your default search engine - you'll have to go int the Firefox config menu to change it back.
Or, can you find it in the add or remove programs list in Windows? |
Never download such strange toolbars. They can create havoc.

i am using malwarebytes |
type about:config into the address bar of Firefox
you'll get a warning, click that you'll be careful in the filter box type keyword.URL and tell me what it says |
|
i think i fixed this on some else's computer but i don't remember how i did it...so what do i change it to?
btw - you are awesome! A little while later.... I remembered how I fixed it and I got the value off of Keyword.URL - MozillaZine Knowledge Base BUT THANKS SO MUCH because I would never have remembered this. |
right-click on the line and choose Modify from the popup menu
replace the value with this if you want the Google search function back - copy just the link, not the < > on the ends Ok, so you got it http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif |
