Hackers Trying To Bring Down The Internet
There are certain signs that hackers attacked key parts of the backbone of the Internet on Tuesday, but luckily there doesn’t seem to be any damage, experts said. The attack appears to have focused on the Domain Name System, which maps text-based domain names, such as “News.com,” to the actual numeric IP addresses of servers [...]

almost garaunteed those servers run some operating system by microsoft.

LOL, lets bash Microsoft everyone! Sure this comment has already been made 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times on the internet, but I think one more is needed to drive the point home. STFU ALREADY.
Jesus Christ, I can't go to any kind of tech forums without seeing hundreds of the exact same post: "Microsoft and Bill Gates suck!" Sure... we all already know that asshat. Sure, your shitty, cracked version of windows crashes after several days of constant running, but take a moment and think.... Anyone who is smart enough to run a decent server will also be smart enough to run Linux. So there goes that point... Just stop bitching and learn how to use another OS if you hate MS so much. God damn. Not directed at anyone in particular, this was just the post that broke the camel's back. End of my rant. |

Whoa there Reaver, I think you were a little harsh on Lemon back there.

bwhahahaha...
reaver. your a trip. windows sucks for sure. but then again, so does linux. anyways... the point here was that these people tried to hack the internet, when for one you cant even do that. |
so whats the elite operating system, lemon?
|
Maybe it's the one he's writing. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/dunno.gif:

indeed. i will write one. it will cost consumers and businesses alike about $20 bucks.
and it will kick ass. but i need a programming language sufficient enough for me to build it the way it needs to be to kick ass. so, im writing that programming language and compiler first. reason is - if i know how the compiler structures the exe, then it will be easier than a hot knife cutting through butter to create an operating system. much easier. |
Why would anyone pay $20 for your system when they can get versions of linux for free, which you could potentially contribute to or even create your "own" version..?
|
they call it technical support. and in this case, its lifetime, not a product lifecycle like microsoft.
plus, businesses dont use linux, in a mainstream kind of sense. but its getting more recongition and usage each and every day, or at the least, each and every week. they sure can create their own... oh, and then they have to write specific drivers for each of their hardware pieces, and then ... see? |
What do you mean they don't use linux? I know many business's that use linux to run their server side operations.

^^^ you forgot that. yes, i know many businesses use linux for server ops. just not both server and client ops. thats what i meant. |
lemon, writing millions of lines of code for your own personal OS is not possible. At least by one person. By the time you would finish it, it would be soo outdated, it would be useless.
|
what i dont see is your OS...

a) windows variant for avg ~150 with ~5-10 of support b) linux variant for avg ~0 with no official support (community based support, which.. well, hmm.. nice words.. nice words... nope) c) my opersys ~20 with lifetime support. ---- now, do you see? |
