Got a laptop here running Ubuntu 10.04 (same one we talked about awhile back). When it boots it says "Disk Failure Imminent".

If i pull up the SMART Data, it says:

"Reallocated Sector Count: Count of remapped sectors. When the Hard drive finds a read/write/verification error it marks the sector as "reallocated" and transfers data to a special reserved area (spare area).

Under "assessment" it says "failing"

Under "Value" it says:

Normalized: 34
Worst: 34
Threshold: 36
Value: 2705 sectors

Then it goes on to say, "Current Pending Sector Count: Number of sectors waiting to be remapped. If the sector waiting to be remapped is subsequently written or read successfully, this value is decreased and the sector is not remapped. Read errors on the sector will not remap the sector, it will only be remapped on a failed write attempt."

Under "Assessment" is says, "Warning"

Under "Value" it has:

Normalized: 100
Worst: 100
Threshold: 0
Value: 12 sectors

Any input you can provide? Does the HD just need replacing?
