Without knowing exactly what you're trying to do (more data would be helpful), one idea is to use Windows Task Scheduler to start whatever application you want to run at a specific time. What application that would be depends on the source of data you're trying to convert and what you're trying to convert it to. Not knowing that, all I can tell you is that you can write macros in Access to import data in one format, run conversion queries on it, and save it out in a different file format. You can command Access to send out emails at the end of a routine or you could use Task Scheduler to do that also.

Many thanks for the replies.
I realize that I am not giving enough information so as best as I can describe it .... A program I use converts its data into a .las file. I understand it to be a type of CSV or SDV. This info is opened in Word, modified, and saved. The data is imported into into a Mail Log file. From there it is modifed then emailed out. Complicated enough? I am trying to explore the programs better to see if there is a feature that I am unfamiliar with. If not, any suggestions? |
