Default I'm reminded why I hate Gamestop
Last night at the God of War 3 launch, Gamestop pulled a pretty dumb stunt. If you preordered the game and paid it in full, you still had to go through the register to "finalize" your preorder (this could only happen after 10pm, per their claim). This gave you a different receipt to show when you picked up the game.

I think Gamestop is just using this to try to sell you more crap. When you went to the register, they hit you with tons of questions. You honestly get tired of saying "No." The guy I had tried to sell me the strategy guide ("No"), but they have the limited edition strategy guide ("No"), I was asked if I wanted to preorder anything else ("No"), he told me to look at the list to make sure I didn't want to preorder anything ("No"), then proceeded to list games he thought I might want to preorder ("No"). It was ridiculous hearing the same crap over and over again for every person in there. I seriously wanted to punch a baby.

It made me want to never preorder with Gamestop again. I bet they get commission on preorders/strategy guides/etc, but my gosh. That whole charade was ridiculous. (Not to mention that whenever they answer the phone they give you a 20 minute intro before you can talk ("Thank you for calling Gamestop, where you can get 50% more for trading in your used games, but we're still ripping you off anyway because we turn around and sell them for a ridiculous amount. This is xx, how can I help you?"))

Anyway, that's my rant for the day. I'll be preordering everything from Amazon from now on.

I've been pre-ordering from Amazon for awhile now and have 0 complaints. Last pre-order I got a $25 credit after the game shipped for use on the next game order. I recommend Amazon to anyone.

It's not honestly the sales kids fault that they have to repeat that stuff over and over. They get the order to push that stuff from their manage who gets it from his boss who gets it from corporate...etc.

It's like when I worked selling computers at Best Buy and they forced us to hound people into trying to buy Product Service Plans on computers. I saw one kid in there still trying to talk someone into it as they were in the checkout line.

I knew as a shopper I didn't like to be pushed like that so in turn I didn't push customers like that.

But in all honesty it's not the sales kids fault.

*** Full disclosure...my two oldest sons work part time at two seperate Gamestops in Midland.

The exact thing happen when i preordered Modern Warfare 2. I had ordered the version with the night vision, and had already paid nearly 200 bucks in advance.

then i got to stand in line for an hour while all of Big Spring go in to make purchases (4 at a time).

Since Amazon doesn't have tax, you just pay $6 shipping and get it on the release date, so it basically equals out for a $60 game.
