Ah, you see where thread/thread starter is? go two steps to the right and you'll find replies. scroll down until you find a number you like ( ) and click on that number. Is it a little pop up or a full screen?

That is a pop up.

Have you installed a pop up blocker or new Antivirus software?

No but I may haven't had firefox that long and this may have been the first time I've clicked on this. I'll check. Is it safe to uninstall the pop up blocker?

THANK YOU NLINE!

Firefox has it's own popup blockers. Third party blockers may interfere with it. If you changed Javascript settings in Firefox then that also maybe causing this.

Nline, sometimes windows will, when you click on a link or something, will open to a specific size.

Sometimes when i click on IE, it open a smaller window than "full screen". There is a setting to tell it to remember window size, and i knew how to find it back in 2001. But i forgot since then.

How do you tell Windows to remember a window size as the default on launch?

To help out DL....

....when you click on "New Posts" it will bring you to the "New Posts" search page. At the top of the columns showing the threads with new posts is a choice called "Replies". If you click on "Replies" it brings up a smallish window that will show you who has replied in that thread, and how many replies they have. I don't use this feature....but apparently DL does.

When she clicks on that Replies link, instead of opening up the smallish window, it opens it full screen.

These are two unrelated functions. The first is the settings for the shortcut that launches IE. Most shortcuts have controls that let you define what size it will be on launch. IE is a special shortcut and so it doesn't work that way. Look here for instructions on how to teach IE what size it needs to open at. http://www.lockergnome.com/windows/2...-small-window/

The second problem that DL is having is some kind of bug or interference. I suspect she has a third party popup blocker that is forcing this. If that isn't the cause then Firefox's profile has become corrupted and needs to be reset.

After I turned off the computer last night, I thought well duh, you still have IE. Try it and see what happens.
Well, it's firefox IE was fine with the little pop up. I ran every cleaner that's on the computer also. After this point any explaining will go over my head but if you do, I can get my son to read it and he could do it. I said I was computer illiterate.

Thanks again!
