We're at the mixed doubles final already? And what a strange match-up, not that mixed doubles isn't wacky anyways.

At least Dry's lady(Peschke) have a chance to go out in glory if the rumor is true about 2012 being her last year.

This is easily the worst day session among any of the grand slams. Let's hope Ferrer and Tipsarevic are somehow able to put on a show.

And why is the US Open so easily willing to soil its dignity by putting Kevin James and Adam Sandler on Ashe stadium tonight?

Almost. That match point on her serve was an amazing point. Makarova seriously saved the day.

In any case, that was entirely Matkowski's fault. I just need a few days to work out that logic in my head.

Because they have to remind everybody that they are not Wimbledon...

That last point from Ferrer was sick, even though he lost it.

Whether or not he wins (and I think he does) today, you gotta credit Ferru for a career year - at 30 years old. When he fell out of the Top 5 in 2008, I was pretty convinced that he had peaked, since his game is so reliant on his ability to chase down balls, and maintain a good amount of speed on the court. That's not the type of game that ages well.

Instead, this season, he has gotten to at least the Quarters of each Slam, and won titles on hardcourts, clay and grass (he's won 5 titles overall).

The guy is an inspiration. I know that he is "not talented" in relative terms (we should all wish to have his game), but he has built himself into a very good player.
He reminds me in that aspect to Alex Corretja. A made player. And that is really worthy.

Ferrer really made him earn it, but Tipsy blasted his way to a tiebreak win, tying it at one set all.

This has turned into a really entertaining match. And Tipsy has played some great points, in part, thanks to David's speed.

I'm very surprised by Janko's level, and even more by his maintaining of it.

Janko starting to look a bit tired. And David starting to look like he just finished his warm up prior to a triathlon.

Armstrong is a graveyard for Jockstrap Headband's match.

Would a doubles semi at Wimbledon ever take place in an empty venue?

I bet David would be a vocal opponent of making earlier rounds of slams best-of-3. He can outlast basically everyone with seeming ease.

I think Janko feels the same way. He's played some incredible 5 setters over the years.
