Unless, Kim Clijsters, Venus Williams, Sara Errani and Carla Suarez all begged to NOT be on Centre, there's absolutely no reason for Wozniacki to be scheduled there again, even if it's a repeat of a former US Open semifinal
(I understand S. Williams - U. Radwanska being on Ct. 1 - less interesting matchup) |

Gasquet would have probably beaten Haase anyway, but both Kitzbuhel finalists now out I kind of understand it if they had a prearranged commitment to Kitzbuhel (I've not checked the details). And Philipp only came by his Olympic place relatively late on. It's disappointing though. And unless you are involved in the Kitzbuhel tournament then it doesn't look great. |

Wonder how they both feel about that now. If their success last week makes it ok by them. At least Haase defended a title and he also knew his Olympics draw wasn't great. ----- Azarenka and Roddick both had umpire outbursts almost simultaneously.. ----- Nice wins for Cilic (Melzer), Hewitt (Stakhovsky) |

Kohlschreiber also had to play two matches in one day because of rain there at some point. If you have an injury and it's bad weather... not a god idea anyway. Erm, Victoria? What's going on. |

I don't know if the thought came into play at all in staying in the draw at Kitzbuhel, (and why he played doubles, I'll never understand), but for the first time in his career, at the age of 28, Philipp is a Top 20 player, thanks to the ranking points he earned this weekend. Did that factor into his decision to remain in the draw? I don't know, but I'm sure there's a lot of pride in being able to say that when you look back on your career. But from the fan view, the Olympics is massive and only comes around every four years. No disrespect to Kitzbuhel........here comes the disrespect .........hardly anyone cares about Kitzbuhel. Apart from when it comes to skiing. |

I get that. But he lobbied to get into the Olympics. Then, to be so careless with an injury... Now, he won't get Olympic ranking points |

Any chance of keeping those Italian fans occupied until Big Sexy gets done with Flavia? You should have more faith in Big Sexy anyway. She's like a top 10 player on grass and she is basically playing today to extend her season If she loses, it will be back to her life traveling the world, visiting cities that happen to be holding tennis tournaments......for the next 11 months |
