Weather forecast looks to be better tomorrow. I don't like what I'm seeing after that! Things could get interesting.....in a not good way.

Unless, Kim Clijsters, Venus Williams, Sara Errani and Carla Suarez all begged to NOT be on Centre, there's absolutely no reason for Wozniacki to be scheduled there again, even if it's a repeat of a former US Open semifinal

(I understand S. Williams - U. Radwanska being on Ct. 1 - less interesting matchup)

Roddick breaks at the end of a tough set to take it 7-5. Not a lot in it. His first serve % was very high - well over 80%.

Highlight was (what looked like) some dignitaries arriving late, taking ages to get to their seats, and taking some stick from the crowd

Clijsters vs Suarez Navarro would be better than Wickmayer vs Wozniacki due to Clijsters retiring after USO and came back to play Olympics. Also, Clijsters played that exo match with Henman, Graf and Agassi.

Errani vs V Williams would be better as V Williams record at Wimbledon says it all

Even, Baltacha vs Ivanovic would be better due to the home country player against a former Slam champion

Gasquet would have probably beaten Haase anyway, but both Kitzbuhel finalists now out

Wonder how they both feel about that now. If their success last week makes it ok by them.

I kind of understand it if they had a prearranged commitment to Kitzbuhel (I've not checked the details). And Philipp only came by his Olympic place relatively late on.

It's disappointing though. And unless you are involved in the Kitzbuhel tournament then it doesn't look great.

Kohlschreiber also had to play two matches in one day because of rain there at some point. If you have an injury and it's bad weather... not a god idea anyway.

At least Haase defended a title and he also knew his Olympics draw wasn't great.

-----
Azarenka and Roddick both had umpire outbursts almost simultaneously..

-----
Nice wins for Cilic (Melzer), Hewitt (Stakhovsky)

No, I don't really get it, and I doubt most observers will either. Just trying to consider what their thinking would have been.

Erm, Victoria? What's going on.

I don't know if the thought came into play at all in staying in the draw at Kitzbuhel, (and why he played doubles, I'll never understand), but for the first time in his career, at the age of 28, Philipp is a Top 20 player, thanks to the ranking points he earned this weekend. Did that factor into his decision to remain in the draw? I don't know, but I'm sure there's a lot of pride in being able to say that when you look back on your career.

I suspect that is the type of thinking that comes into it for some guys of his standing or slightly below.

But from the fan view, the Olympics is massive and only comes around every four years. No disrespect to Kitzbuhel........here comes the disrespect .........hardly anyone cares about Kitzbuhel. Apart from when it comes to skiing.

I get that. But he lobbied to get into the Olympics. Then, to be so careless with an injury... Now, he won't get Olympic ranking points

Vika righted the ship very quickly. Fast final set. A lot of double faults from her again though.

The Olympic tennis live scoreboard seems to be stuck.

Oh, it's a huge disappointment, don't get me wrong, M8. And if I am the German Federation (heck, if I am a German), I'd be very disappointed with the outcome, regardless of the fact that he's now top 20.

Italian and American fans trying to out chant each other at the Venus/Errani match So far it's the good Venus and not the shadow who played at Wimbledon and the French.

I think he might have done it to have a good hard court season. He's number 16 right now which means he will be seeded for Toronto. Still, he had a decent shot at the Olympics with his draw. If he had manged to get past Ferrer then he might have been able to make the semis or get a bronze considering that Del Potro is not so hot on grass.

Any chance of keeping those Italian fans occupied until Big Sexy gets done with Flavia?

Don't think Venus is of a mind to let this go on for a lot longer. 4-1 up in the 2nd.

You should have more faith in Big Sexy anyway. She's like a top 10 player on grass and she is basically playing today to extend her season If she loses, it will be back to her life traveling the world, visiting cities that happen to be holding tennis tournaments......for the next 11 months
