1 Andrea Hlavackova (CZE) / Lucie Hradecka (CZE) [6] 49 vs Sara Errani (ITA) / Roberta Vinci (ITA) [2] 64
Hlavackova/Hradecka are up a set and 4-2. This has been a really, really fun doubles match.

Errani/Vinci are versatile. They hit a lot of drop volley and predict very well. Hlavackova/Hradecka are overpowering them at the moment. Hradecka's sometimes one-handed, sometimes two-handed groundstrokes add spice, and she's serving up a storm. Both Czechs are aggressive at net.

Something noteworthy: all four players have no qualms at trying to murder the woman at net. The Czechs in particular love to blast the netwoman on a second serve return, but all players are doing it.

The Czechs broke again and will serve for it at 6-3 5-2. It hasn't been a bad performance by the Italians, they just haven't had any time to use their creativity on court.

I'm watching online on ESPN3. They also have available a replay of "Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest- Women's Championship."

That sounds absolutely terrifying.

And Radwanska takes the first set! Kerber went up an early break. She's definitely trying to be the aggressor here. I think it caught Radwanska off guard a bit. Of course, Radwanska quickly adjusted and Kerber got visibly nervous and started making a few errors. Radwanska takes it 6-3. I think Kerber was up 3-1 and lost 5 straight games, but I may be wrong.

Is "The Black Widow" in the competition. She's an Asian woman, short and petite, that can outeat most men in those competitions. First name is Sonja/Sonya(?)

We have "Wing Bowl" here in Philly every year, on the Friday before the Super Bowl. Competitive wing eating - they fill the Wachovia Center, which holds 18,000 folks. She won it at least once.

Are you kidding me? There's no way I'm watching that thing. I'm afraid if I watched a row of women violently eliminated dozens of hotdogs I would never again be able to be a participant in a certain.... pleasurable... extracurricular activity.

I am so impressed with Radwanska in this match. She is really adding power and moving forward quite a bit. I haven't seen a match with her this tournament. Now I understand why she's been dominating so many of her opponents.

Wow wow wow! I never thought I would see the day Radwanska made a slam final. BANANAS. Good for her.

She's been talking a lot this year about wanting to become #1 in the world. I honestly thought it was a silly thing to say. Now I believe if she plays Serena in the final and wins, she gets it.

If that happens, I am buying several copies of the book The Secret and giving them to all my friends and family.

Anyone know what the record is for two Top 10 players meeting each other in the same season? Should Vika win the 2nd semi, she would face Aga for the 7th time this year in Saturday's final. And it is only July, so these two still could face each other a substantial number of times between now and the YEC.

By the way, I started with the ESPN3 feed with Evert and Drysdale. The quality of the ESPN3 player itself was being a bit wonky, so I went in search of a livestream. At first I was just going to find one with the same commentators, but I honestly can't stand Evert. I don't dislike anything she says in particular, it's just very basic. "Wow, she certainly hit that ball hard." It feels like filler.

I found one with Lindsay Davenport and some British guy. SO enjoyable. Lindsay didn't once mention anything about herself, which ex-players are wont to do. She was also smart enough to realize and explain that Kerber was working hard to end points early, and that Radwanska was adding additional pressure not with pace, but by hitting closer to the lines and moving forward. The whole thing was a delight.

My first guess is that it would have to be a dominant #1 and #2. Navratilova and Evert, Federer and Nadal, or Nadal and Djokovic.
