For coming in unseeded, I don't think Venus could have asked for a kinder draw.

Any word on Vera Z's health?

I think Tsvetana's Wimbledon lucky streak will finally be coming to an end, and it's back to the 50-75 range in rankings. Where, sadly, I think Jankovic will be joining her soon.

. Aga! I was hoping Venus would get Aga early!
And I'm glad my prayers were answered and Pironkova is far away

Glad Vika and Serena are too. Kinda liking Vika's draw.

Venus-Pironkova semifinal. You heard it here first!

(and probably won't hear it again!)

Serena's quarter looks tricky... don't see her winning Wimbledon this year.

Great draw for Li Na. Marua vs Li semifinal seems likely

This draw is very balanced. Contenders in every quarter. Lots of pretty nice storylines can come out of this draw. Comebacks for either Williams, or Clijsters. Continued domination for Sharapova, and her first time winning two GS's in one year. Azarenka storming back after a lackluster clay season. Kvitova finally finding form again on the Wimby grass. I agree that this is a kind draw for Li. Hoping she makes an impression.

I'm thinking this could be the breakout GS for Kerber. She's yet to upset a top player at a Slam event. (I don't count Radwanska at the USO). But... maybe she'll be able to upset Maria in the QF's. Whoever comes out of that QF is probably the favorite to reach the final.

I like that 2nd quarter. It wouldn't even surprise me if Melanie Oudin came out of it.

Ree's bizarro losses during her last four slam appearances are of far more concern to me than her place now a days in any given slam draw.

Serena's getting old and has a defending champion in her quarter.

I was thinking the same thing.

Serena's getting old and has a defending champion in her quarter.
The universe is telling me the defending champion will be an early round casualty.

I'm thinking Serena draw is a kind one ... she would have to far further out-of-sorts than her RG match to be bumped next week. And then? It's hard to bet against Miss S at Wimbledon once she's reached the middle Sunday ... gotten her groove back and all.

I just have a bad feeling about Zheng and then Safarova. After that, Kvitova.

Because Virginie Razzano was a tough draw? I'm with Miles; the draw is irrelevant when looking at Serena lately. Seven matches without a bad day and she'll take the title with ease; one bad day and I feel like she could lose to anyone (beat herself, really), which is odd to say now after so many years of being the best fighter around, winning matches on off-days she had no business winning.

I'm still in dumbfound shock with Saint Kim vs. Jelena Jankovic as a first round. I know the circumstances and all but just let me say, damn.

Also Paszek vs. Wozniacki could be a barnburner seeing as Tamira isn't a slouch on the green stuff.

Vika's draw is doable, but she'll have to get through some nemeses to take the Dish. I'll be overjoyed with a proper defense of her semifinal. Maria's draw is equally doable. That second quarter is the messy one.

Depending on whether or not her stomach injury is serious, I bet Kim will plow through Jelena.

eh. I still say Serena is the favourite, even though she had a bizzaro loss at the French.
This is Wimbledon.
She's far more confident on grass.
I bet Kim will plow through Jelena.
This line would be a lot funnier if we were talking about the ATP

Oh I completely agree. What shocked me was just simply wrapping my mentality around the concept that two former world numbers ones are playing in the first round of a grandslam.
