Hard to believe Errani has won three titles and gotten to the quarters at 2 Slams so far this season, and remains outside the Top 20 (with a career high ranking of 23 achieved in the last couple of weeks). Obviously that changes next week, but this has been a career defiining season for her.

Tennis channel just showed the stat of Stosur being 47-0 (now 48-0) when winning the first set in Grand Slam matches. I found that truly startling.

They also said she is 6-34 when losing the first set.

Sam Stosur is really having a great tournament. Has yet to drop a set, and while she's had hiccups, she's righted the ship in time to take the set each time.

Despite some fight back by Cibulkova late in the first set, Sam gets through with relative ease.

Martina is talking about how tired Kerber is...they are in THE SECOND SET! Fitness, people, c'mon! This is a terrible match.

Errani is playing fairly well, I give her credit, but c'mon, Kerber is (quite literally) just lobbing the ball up for her.

I saw her play Gajdosova at Indian Wells a couple of years back. She has a nice game, but there was no consistency at that time. Looks like she's made big strides there.

She's also really small. They say 5'4 1/2 on the WTA site, that might be a little generous.

Errani into the semis. Didn't see that coming at all.

Talk about lopsided, but that's Sam.

And so the tournament's best claycourters shall meet in the semis.

methinks she was wearing 4" heels when that measurement was taken. I remember her as positively Lilliputian.

I also don't remember the loud, two-part grunt I heard in today's match.

At work and not seeing this match - is Delpo on fire, or is Roger sluggish...or both?

Frankly, as a Roger fan, I'd rather see him lose to Delpo than to Nadal in the final (not that I think he'd get past Nole even if he wins this match). Oddly, the thought of Roger losing in this round doesn't trigger spasms of melancholy and angst. What is wrong with me?

I agree, I feel the same.

Also, I really love watching Tsonga play.
