In stark contrast to the women's side, I don't think there has been a single big surprise on the men's side. Sure, some of that has to do with the general evenness of the matchups on clay (Stan vs. Tsonga, Murray v. Gasquet, Del Potro v. Berdych - no possible result short of a triple bagel would be surprising in any of those matchups) but this has been an incredibly mundane and undramatic tournament on the men's side. There are like 6 people that anyone thought had any chance of winning this, and I think they're all still here. Ho-Hum...* he yawns as Rafa serves out the 2nd set at love

I feel as if I've been watching the same men's French Open each year since 2007. Though Ferrer has played Rafa pretty decently on clay this year. So that could be interesting. |
