Impressive win by Sloane Stephens over Johansson. She's into the second week of a Slam for the first time. She clowns a lot pn Twitter but she was all business today.

She was broken both times serving for the set though. The competition gets tougher now.

Another disappointment for Ivanovic. She's not tough enough and although her forehand can be a big shot for her, it's also too unpredictable and leaks errors.

I really thought Ivanovic would make the quarters here. Comgrats to Errani or her second second week in a row!

I think the Ivanovic recovery has been a little overplayed. She has improved, just not to the extent that some of the media talk suggests (there is a lot of goodwill out there for her). She still tends to lose to the people you expect her to, and she gets out competed in matches like today.

Great season for wee Sara!

*checks odds on Sveta winning here*

Berdych in trouble against Anderson (who has a similar garish pink shirt to the one Stakhovsky had on yesterday).

What on earth is happening with Agnieszka? All I have is the scoreboard and, from that, Sveta seems to be having a REALLY good day!

Only started watching at the end of the first set. Agnieszka seemingly having a below par day. However, Sveta having a rare good day and imposing her bigger game - ending the points quite early. Slight wobble from Kuznetsova in the second set when ARad broke back, but she broke again in the very next game.

Plays Errani next. Similar kind of match, though I think Sara will actually bring a lot more fight than Radwanska appeared to have today.

Edit to say that's the 6th time in a row that SK has beaten AR.

Ivanovic and Radwanska out already? That's a bummer start to my workday.

Beatdown day for the women--four lopsided matches already.

Anybody from TAT on Court 2? Martic leads by a set and an early break over Medina Garrigues

The Warwinka/Simon match has five set crazy written all over it.
uh huh

I haven't been able to watch too much this week, but I'm totally dialing in for this one!

With each passing day, things seems to be brewing for a perfect storm that sets up Sharapova for a Career Slam.

Can we delete all my posts about picking A-Rad to win the title? Sheesh. I finally get it - she sucks on clay.

Is Sveta playing well enough to win? Stosur's still in it, right? Wow, so wide open if Maria stumbles.

I thought the same thing last year when she made the semis.

Wow Wow Wow! I was pretty bummed when Ivanovic lost early on. But Sveta! Awesome result! Hope she makes the final from this half!

Don't look now, but isn't Wozniacki playing pretty well? With no pressure? Anything could happen.

I've been thinking that exact thing. No intense scrutiny, good clay courter, not generating headlines like at past Slams. Be interesting to see what happens when the pressure is apparently off.

She's got a pretty tough draw though. I'd be impressed if she made it to the semis. Kanepi, then Gorges, then Sharapova. All of whom have given her problems in the past.

Kind of quietly, Sloane Stephens hasn't dropped a set. Her next round is gonna be tough but both potential players have been known to streaky.

Is she working with Thomas Johansson yet?
