Only a fool would differ from that view. So I'll say that she at least reaches the final. It would be good if she could win both these tournaments. It might push us closer to the first article decrying the presence of a dominant number one

So I took out Marion because I doubted she would play with her ankle injury, only for her to remain in the draw and Kvitova is the one that pulls out.
One wasted trade.

It's because the day's order of play had been released already but play had yet to start, so the next highest ranked person to miss out on a seed took the empty slot. If she had pulled out after play had started for the day then it would have been taken by a Q/LL and if she had pulled out before the OOP had been released then the spot would have actually been taken by Radwanska, the highest seeded player in the next tier.

It really just came down to a timing issue but they never would have moved Woz because that would have required a complete reshuffle of the draw which I believe would have affected some already scheduled matches.

Because Kivitova withdrew after the oop was released but before the start of play so the next eligible player to be seeded(Lisciki) took the open spot.
