If my quick research is right...this is the first Rafa-Fed meeting a slam before a final since 2005? Still seems kinda strange even now.

If Kvitova wins tonight, then the story of this Slam would seem to be the next generation finally emerging from the shadow of the proven veterans of last decade. That would be more pronounced, of course, if Wozniacki had done more against Kim.
