Meanwhile, I can't decide if they're trying to diss David Ferrer or Florian Mayer by putting them on 17!

I'm more surprised about Isner/Bogomolov being on Armstrong.

I thought they are actually trying to sell Court 17 as a "secondary" venue court, meaning that it is quite nice. I haven't seen pictures of it, so maybe some TAT'er that has been there can tell us.
So maybe it is an "honor" for the court.

It is supposed to be a show court but it isn't quite finished yet. In terms of capacity, it is the fourth largest court but unless Ferrer or Mayer change their citizenships, there was no way they were going to make it to Armstrong or the Grandstand.

Though I have no idea what Muller/Kunitsyn are doing on Grandstand. Since Young's match has a specific start time, they figured Muller/Kunitsyn would be less competitive and finish sooner rather than later.

The Rafa/Nalby first set was decided by double-faults. Both men, when break point down double-faulted. And in the tie-break at 3-all, Nalby threw in another df.

That was pure GUTS from Flavia! Absolutely no way she could have continued had she been extended to a third set. No way in hell.

The Italian women...seem to give it their all! What they don't have in stature they have in heart!

An amazing gutsy performance in the tb. She was up a break and serving for the match. At 30-0 she got sick, almost threw up, and promptly got broken for 6-6.

In the tb, she quickly went down 5-0 but then amazingly won the next 8 of 9 points to take the tb 8-6. Peng had four match points and played pusher ball on each of them. Flavia just dug deep, even got lucky on a miss-hit and played it out.

Amazing work Flavia! Really just amazing!

Gives reason to the old saying, in Italy the dinner rolls are hard, and the women even harder!

OMG thanks for the replay. I didnt know it was that deep. I just thought it was a regular run of the mill tie-break. That is even more amazing!

Ferrer through, and Roddick cruising. I gather that the people that picked Roddick today expect him to lose to Ferrer and vice versa. So maybe on Tuesday we will have to decide on which one gets by (Nadal/Muller seems to be a given, although you never know).

I really thought Del Potro and Simon would be more, well, interesting. A lot of games are going to deuce or 30-all, but I don't know... It's just not happening for me. I have no idea why.

Shame. To this day I say the best mens' match I ever saw live was their 3rd round five-setter on Grandstand back in '08.
