MARMELADINA 05-27-2011 12:05 AM

Roger on Lenglen again???

pongeystrhjst 05-27-2011 12:40 AM

He is number three with a (downward) bullet, you know.

hapasaparaz 05-27-2011 02:15 AM

Could be a very good day of tennis.

I think this one is going to come too early for Juan Martin - he'll need to serve extremely well to have any kind of chance.

Shuai Peng has been in good form. Possibilities for the upset against Schiavone? Is 2-2 on the H2H, with Fran winning their last match (close one in Madrid).

And Gasquet vs Bellucci looks finely balanced. Both guys on an upward trajectory. They have not played before.

Azzi_Kahlila 05-27-2011 02:22 AM

Yeah, they scheduled the two best matches (possibly) at the same time (possibly) - Djokovic-del Potro and Gasquet-Bellucci

Kafelnikov predicts (from somewhere in Brazil) a del Potro upset. I guess someone had to predict it and he drew the short straw?

hapasaparaz 05-27-2011 02:41 AM

High on the sugar cane perhaps? No, I hope it's a great match. Just have a feeling it's going to be a one sided affair.

Azzi_Kahlila 05-27-2011 09:54 AM

Dulko is trying to pull of an upset, she's had some success in that area. 3 set points

hapasaparaz 05-27-2011 10:25 AM

Don't know if Peng will finish this match. Seems to have coughing/breathing issues - doctor was on checking her pulse etc.

Shame, was a good match. She had been a break up in the first set but then lost 4 games in a row.

Now Schiavone has lost her own momentum and been broken.

hapasaparaz 05-27-2011 10:29 AM

She's retired. Good decision - there's no point suffering like that and risking further damage.

estelle 05-27-2011 10:44 AM

The last three games of the Peng-Schiavone match seemed more like a soap opera than an actual match. I hope Peng gets better, but I always hate it when players hold up play coughing and crying, etc. I understand that it's sad, and this might sound a little harsh- but either retire, or get on with it.

Zugaxxsn 05-27-2011 11:16 AM

Wow; after an early break in the 3rd set it looked like Stosur was in absolute control.
Dulko gathered herself broke back and then went on to win the set and the match.
The only disconcerting part was the announcer on ESPN 3 (I think it was Elise Bergen who has both an irritating voice and an equally irritating style)

Azzi_Kahlila 05-27-2011 11:18 AM

Don't quite know what to make of this, but not too surprising

Gisela's brother/coach Alejandro tweeted yesterday that his twins were born yesterday and her towel had their names on it http://forum.talkabouttennis.com/ima...lies/smile.png

Zugaxxsn 05-27-2011 11:26 AM

Sveta just served up a 1st set bagel to marino
Since Kuzzy is my SP pick; I hope that this doesn't herald a mental collapse

slima 05-27-2011 11:37 AM

Only five minutes in but Marion is struggling just to win a point.

This could be brutal.

rasiasertew 05-27-2011 11:40 AM

Lunims 05-27-2011 11:46 AM

I think the Safarova scare was the best thing that could have happened to Goerges.

I can watch her play all day. http://forum.talkabouttennis.com/ima...lies/smile.png

rasiasertew 05-27-2011 11:52 AM

I think Roger is liking this role of being under the radar. He may just surprise everyone.

Azzi_Kahlila 05-27-2011 11:55 AM

Kuznetsova beat Marino in 49 minutes

uneniaPhenits 05-27-2011 12:33 PM

Thought tipsy would give fed some trouble. His draw is still pretty tough. wawrinka, ferret and djokovic just to get to the final.
