With a Sunday start, we may have a winner in the women's SP by Thursday of the first week.

I love that the defending champion, the 2008 champion and the other '08 and '09 finalist aren't even among the Top 6 favorites. This is going to make for one heck of an interesting Suicide Pool.

We should get one bye ROUND (not day). Really, or there will be 32 players standing by the second round.

One could even try burning the top seeds in the first rounds just to make it through and still it would not be safe.

Clijsters: injured, not playing
Stosur: 2 wins
Azarenka: retired in first set
Ivanovic: bye
Wozniacki: lost second match to Alona Bondarenko
MJMS: lost second match to Stosur
Kuznetsova: lost first match to Peer
Venus: 2 wins
Safina: lost first match to Zakapalova
Dementieva: won first match lost second match to Dulgheru
