Elena Dementieva was this close to beating Serena at Wimbledon this year. If she can almost do it, I am sure Kim can do it as well.

Venus is incredibly tough on grass with that I agree. (Until she faces her sister and melts down, but that's a different story).
The key in my post was virtually, and Dementieva played the match of her life against Serena in the Wimbledon Semi. Serena didn't play her best, and she still won. It's that kind of match that proves that it's so difficult to beat her at Wimbledon. Kim doesn't exactly prefer grass either.

I wouldn't consider it a hijacking when compared to other threads. They were the two finalists at Wimbledon this year.

So, you are saying they are not that strong on hard court? Because, well they both got beaten by Kim at US Open.
They did?

Of course he's not saying that. But I'm just saying that the WS have done nothing to suggest that they won't rule the grass for several years to come.

And while we are talking about Kimmy....does she qualify for the season ending Bali event?

Can she get an invite to that?

No, you have to win at least one international tournament.

If she wins Luxembourg she'll get in.

Technically, at the WTA's discretion, she could get into Doha for winning the US, if I'm reading the rules correctly. So if she qualifies to get into Bali, I can't imagine the WTA not inviting her to Doha instead.
