Completely random and only out of curiosity, I looked up "potro" in the dictionary last night, and found that, I assume based on dialect, it can mean either colt, a vaulting horse, or some type of rack used as a torture apparatus.
LMAO. That's quite a jump from an animal to a torture device.

It's been that way all tournament, even during WS doubles matches, at least for what I've seen. They played their quarter or semifinal match to maybe 1/8 capacity on Armstrong.
Adding to that is that it's 1pm on a Monday when no one would have planned in advance to be there.

Black and Huber are serving at 75-80 mph on consistent basis. How can they possibly be number 1 doubles team in the world?

I was wondering the same thing.

I doubt very much these two would be #1 if 75% of elite singles players played doubles consistently (like in 90-ties).

Armstrong had a good crowd first Saturday for their doubles match against Latisha and Srebotnik. Not full, but I'd say somewhere between 60-75%.

It was more full than that, so much so that they closed all but one entrance to Armstrong, and were checking tickets to make sure no one with a night ticket to Ashe (those awaiting the end of the Roddick/Isner match) were allowed to enter.

That reminds me... I've been meaning to ask... Did anyone else who went to one of the Williams doubles matches on Armstrong experience exceptionally tight security at the TOP of Armstrong? We were going back and forth between their doubles match and the Monfils/Acasuso match on Grandstand, and security wouldn't let anyone stand at the top of Armstrong. You had to take a seat. That was a new one for me. I wondered if it was just a one-time thing or if all of the Williams matches on Armstrong have the same security rule. They played earlier in the week on Grandstand, and people were standing at the rails above it, so I was a little baffled by the security on Armstrong.

I didnīt Saturday, but they were like that on Monday, too. But itīs still the easiest way to get on Armstrong when they claim itīs Ļat capacityĻ

Have I mentioned how little I enjoy Virginia Wade's commentary on the live stream? Her disdain for anything that isn't "classic" tennis style is off putting. To say the least.
