I think they're talking about Los Angeles, Jupiter.

I can't decide if it's a vote of confidence or a bitch-slap that Oudin didn't get a wild card.

I've always felt that the US PTB treat Melanie Oudin as an outsider. I came to that conclusion after another mysterious bitch slap to Melanie. I was told that that is not the case though.

Why she didn't get a direct entry into the MD is beyond me. What does she have left to prove?

Must be the O names. Odesnik suffers the same way.

She will play quallies at New Haven . In the mean time, Young is still getting WC . Maybe it is a sponsor thing.

is she not with IMG?

That's where a lot of the (WC) power seems to be.

As with so much in tennis, the WC situation has been screwed up for a LONG time.

It's just ridiculous. I mean, if we're not gonna always focus on, say, pure worthiness with Wild Cards, regardless of where you live (which would be my first choice)- then at least Oudin and Glatch should be getting Wild Cards into all US main tour tournaments. And just to be even creh-zier- after winning SO many matches, I'd like the poo-bahs to actually pay attention to what is going on in tennis, and see Kuznetsov and Smyczek get some main card wild cards into some major tour US event. (I know, I know: a. , b. we've been to too many challenger tournaments as of late. )

Maybe they're trying to set a record for most Wildcards given to one person. (Who is destroyed in straight sets.)

He HAS to be getting close.

Well that was a surprise. Bartoli held her first service game at love. I hope she can make this interesting.

Perfect timing!
I was about to complain that the tournament's website is so bad that they haven't posted the OoP for today!
Thanks, Ti! I may go and see Kimiko Date play, if the qualies are open to the public...
