It's been a real nice change of pace not having to listen to Gimelstor, Shiras, or even Morariu for the past few weeks.

Classic conversation that you wouldn't usually hear between American commentators:

Euro Commentator 1: Zverev looks a bit like Matthew McConaughy

Euro Commentator 2: I was actually thinking he looks like Vince Spadea

Euro Commentator 1: Oooh, I don't think he'd like that comparison

Euro Commentator 2: Well, as long as he doesn't start rapping it's okay

lol.

Did you guys see Gimelstob has a twitter? And see what Andy R said about it:

if you are smart enough to do this, it must pretty easy. Right. Just try real hard not to say anythin

if you are smart enough to do this, it must pretty easy. Stupid or insppropriate. I know thats tough

Default I hate Justin Gimelstob (the commentators thread)
He makes my skin crawl. He can't say the word "strength." I'll bet he stinks.

Any commentators you particularly abhor?

There are lots of anti-Gimelstob sentiments throughout this board, to be sure.

Because he's misogynistic.
Because he's stupid.
Because he's thinks he's funny, but he's not.

This is obviously not the consensus opinion here, but I don't really mind him that much. I find him easy to ignore but I also kind of get a kick out of the awkward moments he creates when he has to commentate with better, smarter people. He doesn't grate on my nerves like many others.

He doesn't really bother me either, unless they pair him up with Ted Robinson.

Besides his obnoxious personality (which I'm sure he actually curbs on air...he must be truly vile in real life), I also find his technical commentary moronic most of the time. I'd buy more into what he said if players didn't usually do the opposite of what he "suggests" and go on to win...I'd buy even more into it if he had actually had a good career himself. So he dove for balls every once in awhile. Big ****ing whoop.

I got really sick of seeing the montages that were made of his diving for balls at Wimbledon when he made the third round. I think one of the people he beat was Massu. Big win. Especially on grass
