None of those groups set out to conquer the country for their own religion or wish to replace it's constitution. Apart from that I doubt you even know what multiculturalism means. Such a swamp breeds hostility to other communities and in the case of pre-disposed Islam; terrorism and the intention to make Britain and Europe into Islamic states.

It disadvantages the one group not entitled to recognition or funding: Native white Britains. Figures released today show that poor white boys and girls are now the lowest school achievers, while diversity is celebrated in schools, any celebration of British culture is regarded as racist.

And BTW, the Know Nothing movement morphed into the Republican Party whose present platform is a popular fear that the country is being overwhelmed by Muslim immigrants who are often hostile to U.S. values.

Newsflash, Irish sometimes did own more allegience to the Pope than to America. They sometimes sent money back to Ireland to fund the IRA. They did want more control than they initially had and the Kennedy dynasty is an example that sometimes they achieved it. They engaged in gang and organized crime activities. They changed the country in ways that can never be reversed. And if you love America as I do, you love their legacy as much as any other. America would not be what it is without them. The country was not overcome by them, but they did change it.

President O'Bama and Vice President Biden are both Irish Americans (no joke) as was President Reagan.
