Default France Bans Hezbollah TV Channel in France
who's on the phone?

I always said France opposes anti-semitism and fundamentalism, actually more so than the US, in France you can be thrown in jail for public anti-semitic (or racist in general) sentences.

this is totally unrelated to our international position in the Middle East.
Hesbollah is not banned because it's a terrorist organisation (it is no longer, it doesn't no longer carry out terrorist attacks against civilians neither in libanon nor in Israel, it became a political force in libanon) but if their media start spreading anti-semitic hatred they crossed the line.

You see we make a clear distinction between geo-politics in the middle-East, and real racism and anti-semitism in France. YOU should too, your side is too much involved with the Bush-administration supportive of Saoudi Arabia and the current israeli government. This is contradictory but so is the Bush-policy.

I'm sure once labour returns to power in Israel with a more reasonable program willing to work towards peace in the middle East and willing to negociate with the moderate palestinians, relations between Israel and France will be restored.

The people who banned the hijab now ban al-Manar TV. It's more of the same racist kneejerking from the French. That Hezbullah is a terrorist organization is besides the point and what has more to do with it is the fact that French muslims are just slightly below Jews on the list of groups Chirac would just as soon see leave the country forever.

BTW don't pay any attention to those fools who tell you it's not a terrorist organization.

The problem is that France's foreign policy versus Israel is "antisemitic." They like the EU pretend to "love Jews" to offset their policy of trying to deligitimise and destroy Isreal diplomatically. It's nothing more than a bunch of BULL. France´s foreign policy towards Israel is far from anti-semitic. Europe in general has been and continue to treat Israel pretty much as any other western country. France too. And that even after Israel over and over again has shown how little it respect european values, international laws and diplomatic rules.

We trade as much as ever with Israel and Israel takes part in many cultural events in europe and most current european governments doesnt do much else than taking actions against anti-semitism these days.
Your accusations are just simple lies.

And Israel deals with you even though you never saw a blood thirsty murderous butchering tyrannical terrorist you didn't like. Modern 'neutrality' is just a nice word for whoredom.

so there.

For God's sake get ahold of yourself man! The clue phone is ringing for you too. I happen to live here and your portrait is inaccurate at best. Maybe your name should be chicken little. At least then the screeching of the sky is falling would make a bit more sense. You obviously do not realize it but we are at WAR. And no I do not mean simply Iraq, the war on terrorism is not some simple legal battle and to attempt to fight it that way is useless.
what can one say though to someone from a country that has become so socialist that the Viking forebears must constantly be spinning in their graves to see what their progeny has become.
Personally I guess you should make sure that you come into this country legally, become a good citizen and so on if you want to stay and not be treated suspicously. No, Northlander I have not lost one liberty that I have ever had since 9/11. I know multpile Muslim physicians and despite what the left elit would like you to believe no one has been banging down their doors, and neither are they worried about the govn't looking into anything of theirs. We have some 280 million people in thes country and personally I think the FBI is looking into something much more important than what I happen to be reading.
By the way Animal Farm the book is a not favorable to socialism, despite the way it was portrayed in the film, tell me why in the world if you are familiar with the book would anyone give a rip if I were reading it or not. Now if someone were getting material on how to build a bomb than I would hope someone would take a look at what it going on.

How many muslims in USA are being hold for unlimited time as we speak?
US citizens? Fewer than 6. Non US citizens? somewhere around 375 which is more or less the same level maintained by immigration and visa violations for each of the last 10 years.

How many foreign citizens are being held in military bases or have been sent to your less democratic allies where they can be "properly" questioned without anyone asking questions. Three fewer than before since those Frenchmen extradited back home to face terrorism charges there. The point is, all rambling aside even other countries understand that at least some of these people are very bad people. To automatically depict them all as innocent orphans who were swept up by right wing death squads is silly.

I wouldnt even consider borrowing animal farm from an american library nowadays since I would end up registred as god knows what. Do you even know that what you read are monitored? How does that make you feel? Free? As opposed to what? In most European states one must have and carry with them 'papers', an identity card. In Switzerland you can't legally change your residence w/o first informing the police. France doesn't even have a 4th ammendment. There are basically no wiretap laws in Germany, Australia and South Africa.

I would recommend you speak to any of all those that have relatives inprisoned if it werent for the fact that it probably would get you too into trouble. Dont ask. Just continue to be a naive, patriotic citizen who never questions anything. I know people who know people who are or have been detained such as you say. That is neither here nor there.

The French Broadcasting Authorities (CSA) on Wednesday complied with a recommendation by the French government to ban Hizbullah's al-Manar satellite television from broadcasting in France.

On July 12 of this year, the French Ministry of Interior sent an advisory memo to the CSA recommending al-Manar's transmission via the European satellite operator Eutelsat be "immediately terminated due to their anti-Semitic content."
Very good move on the part of France. The French deserve proper credit for this position.

Now they need to stop meetings between the French President and the Hizbullah leader, and France needs to stop acting as the Hizbullah's diplomatic arm at the EU.

Hizbullah is a terrorist organization responsible for unspeakable acts of terror against Israeli civilians, and is also responsible for the suicide bombing that murdered nearly 250 Americans in Beirut.

Unfortunately, France, while banning anti-Semitic broadcasts, still supports Hizbullah as an organization, allowing the Islamic terror group to conduct business freely and to move money through the French banking system. The money goes directly to fund the terrorism that France supports.
