A principle used by the accused as a defense against the accuser as to the inequity of an action against him/her.
I don't like Gaddafi and tend to feel justified with any action we take to unseat him. He appears to be rogue BUT how can this be determined ? Has the majority of the citizens of his country indicated they want him replaced ? Is his use of his countries military to quell insurrection been unlawful ? "Our Constitution" authorizes the use of our Militia to quell rebellion and we have done so on various occasions. What legal right have we conjured up to support our latest activity ? What is the deep seated reason for revolt ? Did he in playing OUR game incur the wrath of his people who found only he received the benefits and now we want out ? Unclean hands historically ? Forming a Realistic Perspective Posted 21 Hours Ago at 06:45 PM by skeptic1 BY skeptic1 …………..wto Forming a realistic perspective IMO If in disagreement explain why ! A summation: We have since the beginning of recorded history made war in one form or another because we coveted our neighbors goods or resources and sought to make them ours. Those most benefiting from this concept of acquisition were England, France, and Spain. Wealth flowed from the nations so chosen by the big three for exploitation to big three coffers as control to the same degree flowed away from those exploited. Soon “It was said” the sun never set on the British empire. France was no sloth in the game and Spain attained its purloined wealth to be transported home leaving behind a population of Spanish speaking Indians and new Spanish rulers. Germany to a lesser degree was also a participant along with some less ambitious or capable nations. The United States although late in the game but generally speaking cut from the same cloth as time marched forward employed surrogates where possible that would do our bidding rather than use direct warfare. As we morphed into the 21st century witnessing a growing population and diminishing resources we found those less fortunate in material wealth to be experiencing an even smaller distribution of the pie. This of course meant those who labor for their subsistence ran short of the funds to purchase the output of the factories owned by the more fortunate and employment began to recede. One way to bolster purchasing of output was to make it easier to do so by loosening credit to stimulate buying which we did producing the ability to spend that which we didn’t actually have. Clinton Bush and ourselves had a hand in that caper. Another method was to send our productive capability to ever cheaper low wage countries to lower the price to the consumer as well as raising the profit for the producer. This of course prolonged our disease and we have existed on repeated resuscitation. Soon every aspect of our economy was touched by this blight as we repeated this slow suicide formula that but for borrowing from the likes of China and others would have seen us perish. We remain today alive but staggering. How does all this relate to developing a perspective ? In this way : The uncontrollable riots unrest and revolution going on world wide especially in countries under our influence because of ours and allied partners vital interests in their resources are caused by the realization of the masses within those countries that they are getting the shaft and we support might not right when seen necessary in our eyes. Our words do not match our actions. Distrust of government home and abroad has peaked. Yet a third way to promote our deadly status quo in the face of catastrophe was in our country to promote fear of a competitive religion and those that follow it that was gaining a foothold against Christianity so as to enlarge the scope of military power sparking job creation making activities and refocusing efforts away from more sustainable solutions to keep our engine running. (It has been said England was the source of Gadaffy arms used against the oppressed.) Harnessing energy from an ostensibly non depleting source would solve a goodly number of our problems but the reluctance of those who now command and profit from the use of fossil fuels (incidentally holding sway over such far reaching efforts) ”resist” slowing what has to be recognized as a necessary step in the progression of our lives on the blue marble and someday beyond. Ones perspective then it would seem should be encouraging importance of preservation of human life over amassing individual fortunes and the ability to recognize one more logical method over another to move forward toward such end. The Chickens come home to roost ! . |

A principle used by the accused as a defense against the accuser as to the inequity of an action against him/her. If you think the Dems can solve it, you are crazy. If you think the Repubs can solve it, you are nuts. What you see today is the result of those parties, a two sided coin, and no matter if heads or tails comes up, we will continue on the same path until the walls simply fall upon us. Most of the unrest in the world today can be laid at the feet of gov't, corporations and financiers sharing the same bed. What is good for Wall St and corporations is good for America. And you are seeing that GOOD today. We have once again cycled into WHAT destroys the average people. And this is not the first time we have been here, yet it is monumentally worse, due to the size and scope of those institutions who have the reins. Yet perhaps on the other side of the crash is the possibility for real change, but I would not bet 1 red cent on it. |
