ahh personal insults about how I dont care about the military. the only person here that is discusting is you, but its ok, as we are all used to it.

You said why was there no post her about OBAMA polaying basketball in front of troops, and I simply stated it was covered by the press a TON, and this story was not.

Its ok, I know you believe obama is your messiah, so you can simply ignore me and I will do the same with your pathetic attempts at insulting me.

Thanks.
The only thing that's pathetic is a childish attempt to portray the O as anyone's messiah or savior, or that it's somehow meaningful that an ex-POTUS is shaking hands with troops at an airport.

Yeah, that really shows true appreciation.

How so? The fact that I support and honor our troops while you use them as nothing but mere political pawns to push your absurd partisan agenda? I guess I would appear disgusting to you, then. Hey, I view troops as human beings and not fodder for pundits, what a strange and foreign idea to you this must be.
You said why was there no post her about OBAMA polaying basketball in front of troops, and I simply stated it was covered by the press a TON, and this story was not. So, you only start threads on things that aren't in the news? Is that right?
Its ok, I know you believe obama is your messiah, so you can simply ignore me and I will do the same with your pathetic attempts at insulting me. Too funny. Hey, CSA, behold the faces of these humbled troops as they stare upon the Godly form of President Bush! These soldiers have been forever changed by their brush with the almighty Bush!

Another point. These troops are coming from a war zone, they've been gone for atleast a year or longer. I'm sure the families have been walking in circles waiting for their sons, daughters, mothers, fathers etc to get off the plane and along comes Bush, the SS, and cameras to get in the way.

How many of these "Obama is on vacation" threads are there going to be?
Maybe we should make a new forum called "Obama goes on vacation"...mabye a link to twitter so we can get up to the minute details...what Ice Cream did he eat...important stuff like that.
I was hoping that we could start a panel discussion on checking to see if Obama has clean underwear on.

That's interesting !

I never gave thought to whether a guy had dirty underwear on (of course the Navy had great interest in this fact in boot camp) that and "short arm inspection" But..... my dear wife (bless her heart) was always able to squelch what might have appeared to be a sexual interest in another of the fair sex by informing me the story on the gal was that she wore "Dirty Underwear" and Smelled. Have they no mercy in them ?

I would love to see Palin with some pom-pon at the exit terminal of an airport with reporters and photographers by her side, waiting for troops to get off. A mini-skirt would be a plus!

Not only would it be encouraging for our troops, it would take empty, symbolic, politically motivated media photo-op to a whole new level.

he does it ALOT, and shows up at hopitals to see family and soldiers. He does not allow the press in and just walks around. This is a major reason bush will be viewed differantly is 20 years then he is today.
Why? Because he greeted a few troops in his spare time? Oh yeah, that's really redeeming. It will no doubt make everyone forget the disastrous Iraq occupation and all of the waste.

'Countless' visits to Walter Reed... at all times of the day and night. 'Many' visits to Pope AFB to meet the planes and express orders to everyone not to speak of either one of them.

Obama spent time playing basketball and then throwing a BBQ at the White House for wounded soldiers just three days ago. Where was the thread on that?

Other than that, thumbs up to Bush for greeting the soldiers, I'm sure it was much appreciated.
I read this... thought about posting about it. But frankly I was not sure how to feel about it. The BBQ at the White House, and whoever from the NBA (I forget) was, I'm sure, much appreciated. The playing hoops in front of guys that can't walk... well...

So I scored it 'he means well' and left it at that.

Ok, he shows up, the USO is there with cameras. Did the USO know ahead of time that he would be there? The USO does not greet every flight of returning troops.
If he cares so much about the troops, why did he interfere with long awaited family reunions?

It would be interesting to learn how often Bush showed up to a public airport to welcome troops home while he was President. I'm not defending Obama; just saying that it's a pretty silly thing to be critical of Obama for...
From what I remember Bush regulary was there when bodies came home from war, and personally called the families. They just never talked about it.

Oh, I'm well aware of that.

But it's pretty clear that the intent of the OP was to criticize Obama for not welcoming home the troops at the airport. Bush was at DFW in the photos provided. How many times did he do that as President? How many times did he swing out to Dulles or Reagan International, while President, to shake hands of returning troops?

Probably none.

Thus, the criticism falls short...

Seems to me that if Bush had wanted to show his appreciation for the troops, he wouldn't have sent them to Afghanistan and then forgotten about them.

No, I think its accurate given all the things Bush did as CinC, which Obama doesnt do. We rarely hear any praise or acknowledgement of what our troops are doing.

So you shadow Obama to see and hear what he does at every moment of every day?
