Default Did Congress Really Not See This Coming?
Source http://www.foxnews.com/politics/firs...eturn-bonuses/

Ok, this article say 3/4 people want the AIG to give back the bonuses. REALLY, only 76%!?!? Why didnt congress see this coming? How does congress get burned yet again? First time, bail-out money was used for a weekend get away for the company, the excuse was that the trip was slotted already. Could congress really be this nieve and not write a stipulation that the money could only go to business costs that will keep the company working, and allow all contracts to be null in void.

What do you think about working 40 hrs a week to give these jack offs $165 mil in bonuses for FAILING.

Okay the weekend getaway was justified. It was a wine and dine event for potential big customers and employees who had brought in a certain amount of business that year. The same thing is with the bonuses. The bonuses, as I understand it, are for work done. If the work was not done, then the bonuses should not be granted...if the work was done, then give them the check.

I am sick of seeing congress abuse power to cover up their own mistakes.

Don't agree with some business practices but... And, it was government regulations and policies that caused all of this mess in the first place...

What is the big deal? These bonuses will stimulate the economy... They might even buy an RV and stimulate Elkhart, IN... Congress no longer has any due regard to the Constitution and they are now governing as a tyrant, systematically... I am really getting concerned with what it is exactly we are protecting. They shouldn't have been bailed out and the government most certainly should not be circumventing legal contracts and what a company does with their money is their business... Congress gave it to them, it is theirs on loan... Government has no business in private companies; Congress cannot even manage itself effectively.

I do not understand the uproar over this few million dollars when they have no problems throwing billions at pork projects and social programs. They never have cared about our tax dollars before... Well, I do understand it, it is politics and just another political game - it has nothing to do with reality and sincere care about the government, United States, or her people...

I wonder how many millions of dollars of taxpayer money is being spent (wasted) on this government "outrage"...?

VF,

I am with you on this one. We spent $80 BILLION dollars on AIG are on tap for another $30 BILLION dollars. $165 million is pocket change compared to that. And that is just for ONE company!!!
